This book really isn't about making friends or being an influence on others. It's how to understand reactions of others and best way to respond. Love this book, even though written 100 years ago. I've read it five times since I bought it last year. Every time I read it I learn something new. Anyone who regularly interacts with others should read this book. I love this book. It is so easy to read and you just don’t want to put it down. One thing I will note is that my wife got an earlier edition of this book and hers does not have the spelling errors. There is all sorts of missing letters and words crammed together. So as far as content this book is great but when it comes to applauding the editor it gets a big thumbs down. ... show more

Format: Paperback
I have nothing wrong with the book itself, but the printing quality is pretty bad. On some pages, the printing is pretty light. On others, random little ink lines, and on others, missing letters. Book gets 5 sars, printing quality gets 3 stars.

Most of the information was already known to me. Sometimes I forget to put it into action. Learning people birthdays and names is pretty basic when trying to make new friends. I give it a 4 star rating because a lot of people lose this basic information in there heads sometimes. Dale Carnegie's short read gave my mind a decent refresher on making friends. ... show more

Dale Carnegie's advice will smooth out your rough edges. There is value in politeness, respect, and honesty. This book should be in everyone's private library. Buy it. Read it. Then read it again.
