I love my GoPro Hero 3+ Silver edition. It really is an incredible bit of technology capable eye popping pictures and videos. But for awesome of a product it is, I really don't think you'll get the full potential of this device by using the very limited manual that comes with it. I haven't read many other manuals concerning my camera, but this book has been /very/ helpful. It covers teaching you the basics of your camera as well as the basics of POV cameras and photography. Introduction to video and camera settings. A break down of most mounts, their most and least beneficial uses. Even how to make your own home made mounts. How to recognize and make the best of lighting situations to using the editing software you can (and should) download from GoPro. It's easy to read and follow and really prepares / educates the new GoPro user. Worth the price.

I'm an amateur photographer and new to go pro. This was a great book for anyone. Lots of info on settings, how-to' sand easy to understand explanations. It's very well written and I got lots of great tips and ideas. I also really liked how they show what version of go pro has which settings (made me feel even better going for the hero3+black) so you know what your camera can vs can't do. If you're interested in mounts this book has a TON of info on mounts, in fact it's probably 40% of the book, a bit too much on mounting for me, but I understand why it's there. Overall A+.

It is a good guide, probably the best one available so far. You will find very very basic instructions to operate your GoPro as well as some interesting tips. There is a whole section on whole to mount your camera on many of the accessories that you can get on the market although this is pretty straight forward in my opinion. The editing section is very useful to get some initial steps on how to publish great videos.

This book is really well done and has so many helpful tips. The mounting section was really thorough and the examples of how to mount it gave me lots of ideas. Definitely worth checking out if you are trying to figure out how to use your gopro.

Using the Go Pro Hero 3+ BE is like a big experiment. I have found external microphone a great addition for recording audio. The wide-medium-long lenses are 14-21-28mm. Great for personal photography, but too short for shoots that require 50-300 mm lenses. Hetrick's book provides invaluable information for users getting started with the Go Pro series.

Just ok--tries to cover all versions of the GoPro Hero 3 but ends up leading you down info that sounds useful until it says something like "except for white version". It would be great if that would be up front and not have to read an entire section to find out it is not a feature for your specific model.
