This is definitely one of the better books on basic drawing, even for a beginner like myself that has never been good at making faces, period. I feel confident enough to actually give this a try after a read through, I'm glad it wasn't too long, I finished it in less than an hour, maybe less than 45 minutes and the examples definitely are helpful. But probably a little harder for say, a kid that's younger than a teenager, but not to say it's not going to be worth trying out if it's for a younger kid. It's very helpful to drawing anime. It uses the normal face mapping style of drawing faint lines to align basic shapes and all that but includes lots of little tips tricks and pointers. s well as how to draw facing different positions and some examples of different hair styles. Etc. It's not a bad source of info even If you know some of it already ... show more
