I replaced an extremely old address sign on my house probably from when the house was built in the 70's. This sign was easy to setup and install. The numbers are black vinyl stickers that stick to the white plastic board. The are plenty of letters and numbers to pick the characters of your choice up to 5 characters. The brightness of the light is a great feature to make the sign visible in pitch darkness. The battery inside is a 2,000 mah double AA battery that recharges off the tiny solar panel. The location of where I put the sign does not get much sunlight or at all so I cannot confirm how great the solar feature works. It's a great product but it works only until 9:50 pm on a sunny day when sunset happens around 7:30 pm - 8 pm. So i feel the solar battery only lasts ~2 hours max. In winter, when sunset happens around 4-5 pm in LA. I'm expecting it to last until 7 max (not ideal for winter I guess)

Final Follow up: The replacement sign arrived promptly and it works great. The Auto button was obvious and the sign lit up right away. After being in the sun all day, it stayed on most of the night. I am pleased with the design and modern look, but i couldn't get the switch to auto until I took off the rubbery cover on the button. Now it looks like the switch is set on auto and the sign is in direct sunlight. I'll update this once it gets dark and the sign actually lights up. It isn't the most robust material, and probably won't last too long in the desert. I haven't tried to install it yet. The numbers are very nice and went on easily. Final update: the sign never did light up, even after a whole day in bright sunlight. I asked for a replacement, expected tomorrow. I'll rate that one. ... show more

There's really not all that much that can be said about this illuminated solar-powered house number plaque other than that it does exactly what it claims to do, and looks elegant and minimalistic doing it. One star subtracted from a perfect score because it is a little bit flimsy to the touch, largely because of thin plastics used. The light stays on all night, but it does get a bit more dim towards 5 am. We live in a place where we get plenty of sunlight most days, so the batteries are almost always full at the end of the day. If you live somewhere where you get less sunlight your plaque might not stay lit all night. Application of the number stickers was very easy when using the included guides, and the installation on the wall was simple; just two screws needed. Worth noting though is that the screws are not included. At least not in our case. The light is not super bright but it is plenty bright to illuminate the house numbers at night (see photo included in this review). Overall I definitely recommend this plaque. Affordable and does exactly what it should. I will update this review if things change in the future. ... show more
