If you use flat hangers (typical plastic hangers) you will save space. However, using better hangers (that have some curvature to them) does not really save space because of their width.

Am at a loss to see how real space can be saved with the concept. And there were clips provided presumably for heavyweight items. It again is a perfect space saver; 5 items of clothing, but only using up the space of maybe 1-2 items, due to the drop down design. Overall and especially for the price, they are good quality. They do exactly what they were designed to do.
