  • Charming and thoughtful book, great suggestions on how to make the everyday surprising and special!
I just had to write a review because this book inspired me this morning! I was drinking my coffee and looking out the window thinking, "What a gorgeous day." And I realized that if I were on vacation, I would go sit outside and enjoy my coffee in the sun and gentle breeze. So why not right now? I opened the door and did just that! Hotels to Home encourages this approach to life, and inspired me to treat myself to coffee outside; had I not been reading this book, I likely would have decided I was too busy, or figured I would do it another time. Hotels to Home author Darcy Guttwein uses her own experiences to help curate your lifestyle in a way that works for you, to make your days even more special and enjoyable. There are definitely suggestions on how to go big in elevating your lifestyle, but there are many practical, cost-effective examples too. This book is a real gem, and would make a great gift! ... show more

  • Creative & Impactful
What a unique approach to wellness at home. This book focuses on the how and where of daily living - a creative, helpful, and refreshing read for anyone looking to improve home-life happiness.

  • Interesting!
I already do a lot of things recommended in this book, but there are some things I never considered. I’ve always endeavored to give my guests, (and myself), a boutique hotel-like experience at home, and this book helps tick those boxes. Ignore the naysayers - they’re just jealous or thrive on breaking people down to build themselves up. This is a fun read and opens one’s eyes to the little luxuries we can all benefit from in our own homes. Embrace the self-care and the FUN! ... show more

  • Uplifting read
I love this book. It is both a self-help book and an inspirational book. I have enjoyed it so much that I have purchased several copies to give as Christmas gifts. I especially enjoyed the spa transformation of an ordinary bathroom. It is just a fell good book packed with many suggestions and tips for making the ordinary extraordinary. ... show more

  • Very Inspirational!
This book is perfect for any event planner such as myself. A fun read on top of that.

  • Privileged and alienating
There is a way to write about luxury experiences in a vivid, indulgent, and escapist way. Guttwein is clearly highly privileged yet not enough so to hire herself a competent editor who could prevent this book in its current state from hitting the presses. This book was a real “tell don’t show,” missing everything that could have made it fun and escapist and instead channeling eye rolling house making tips from every suburban mom you try to avoid conversation with. Pass. ... show more
