    • Great product, but not quite handsfree
After months of milling over whether or not to purchase this or another expensive massager to treat myself with in my alone time, I finally decided to pull the trigger and purchased the Pulse Solo Lux. I waited in great anticipation for it to arrive, reading many reviews as well as watching several videos that reviewed the product. I couldn't wait to finally get to try it out once it was delivered. The box and other packaging looked nice and luxurious. However, once I opened the box and retrieved the massager and it's charger, I quickly discovered that there were no (even basic) instructions included on initial charging and use. No biggie, the internet is your friend. One complaint: The charging cord/adapter is magnetic and connects pretty loosely onto the base of the massager. As such, the charger can very easily come detached from the toy while it is charging, as it does not securely clip or connect and just kind of rests against the charging port on the massager. The magnetic hold between the charger and charging port is pretty weak. If not placed just right or if the toy is not set up just so on a table or whatever so it doesn't roll round, or if you happen to bump or barely pull on the charging cord, it can very easily detach and will fall off before charging is complete. Not a deal breaker, just a bit inconvenient. Overall, this toy is a very welcome addition to my collection. Two months later, I have no real complaints overall. Anxious to try it out for the first time, I fanned its wings open and slipped it underneath, making sure that the massage plate was positioned perfectly so it was right underneath and resting against my most sensitive area before allowing the wings to close back up again, wrapping around and securely holding the whole unit in place, armed and ready to engage it's target. Laying back, I hit the power button, immediately discovering that the motor in this thing was a bit loud, but could produce some incredibly powerful vibrations. I wasn't quite expecting it when the pulse plate suddenly roared to life, forcing a loud gasp from me when I felt the most intense buzzing and rumbling suddenly explode underneath my half flaccid shaft. My toes curled as the pulse plate lurched and raised up ever so slightly, just enough so that it hit its target, feeling it start vibrating and buzzing harder as it pressed up just enough to make direct contact against my most sensitive spot while continuing to blast powerful pulses of intense vibrations through my entire shaft at the same time. This thing was relentless. I felt it beginning to seriously work over my frenulum. Within moments I had started leaking a good bit as I felt the powerful buzz of the pulse plate continuing to roar against my most sensitive parts and before long it had me moaning loudly and getting lost when the pattern changed and sent a whole new series of pulsations beating underneath my shaft. The intensity of the vibrations can be adjusted easily and quickly, either with the remote or by buttons on the unit, which makes working your way through and trying out all of the different pattern settings both fun and challenging. The first time or two that I used it, I can honestly say that this toy literally beat my load out of me and forced me to bust without any help whatsoever. Since then, I have found that it sometimes doesn't quite take me over the edge and I need to work it a little manually, but definitely will bring me all the way there before long. If I can last five full minutes, I count that as a win. Just depends on how long it's been and how excited I am beforehand. I had high hopes for this, but it's just a vibrator with the exactly wrong frequency to be pleasurable. I know it has vibration settings and is "ED certified" but all it ever did was make my "mini me" numb. I even tried it with whisky d*ck, it just made me numb and scared of anything that goes bzzzzz . I tried it hard too, I realized I do not like having my junk assaulted with numbing "sensations." This is a horrible product, do not buy it. I used it in bed, alone, with friends, in the shower, and more... It never helped me climax, it is actually a genuinely horrible sex toy I WAY overpaid for. *@#& you hot octopus. This toy may not be perfect, but it was the closest I found over a journey of nine, including the Lelo F1S. After nearly a year of use, I have just purchased a second of these to protect myself from out-of-battery situations. (That's not a complaint about the battery's capacity; I'm careless about charging.) This is a different sort of stimulation than most vibrators. If you, dear reader, are shopping for yourself, my main message here is that you owe it to yourself to ensure that you experience this *type* of vibrator, be it this one or some other. That said, I haven't located any other vibrators that work like this yet. (The closest I tried was the Lelo F1S, which is more expensive and seems to impose a strict limit on the size of the user.) Why this type of toy? When set to a pulsing pattern, this toy creates soft, pleasant, ceaseless involuntary contractions deep in my penis. That's the answer for me. It does not encourage erections; it produces them. Since happiness is more subject to expectations than objective reality, let me deprive you of any notion that this toy is a good stroker. Although the manufacturer's website says "squeeze on some lube to transform PULSE SOLO LUX into a next-generation male masturbator," I attest that the Pulse is in fact a terrible masturbator. It's simply something else—and that something else happens to be much better, at least for me—but if you're expecting to do traditional stroking with this thing, it's not really for that. ... show more

    • Functions differently. Works good.
The first firing was just a 30 second test to make sure that it was functioning and to check-out what it does. The battery in the remote needed to be replaced upon arrival. This thing is bigger and heavier than I expected. Walking around the house hands-free with this thing is not an option for me. The second trial run found me going in flaccid with the goal of having a hands-free orgasm, which was successful. With numerous settings and positions to tryout, there's a bit of a learning-curve. It turns out that I like the slower, more rumbley-feeling settings. The acid test was on the morning after the first real trial run, roughly 12 hours later. I went in with less than half libido, and totally flaccid. And with my usual porn and poppers, this thing got me off in short order, which considering my age (mid 60's), is impressive. So far, I'm pleased with my purchase and can recommend the Pulse Solo Lux. The Pulse Solo Lux seems to be built quite well. But, only time and use will determine its reliability. Perhaps I should have knocked-off a star for the battery in the remote being DOA; but, I didn't. The packaging (all cardboard) probably allowed a button on the remote to be pressed during shipping, thus killing the battery. Speaking of the remote, if money is tight, the Solo Essential might be a better choice. It's not at all difficult to operate the controls on the main unit. So far, I haven't found the turbo mode to be particularly desirable. But, a young man might feel differently about that. ... show more
