Here's the update... steering fixed. Firstly ensure you set your trim. This was my main issue because I didn't understand how vital it was for the correct operation of the truck. Next... There is a built in servo saver under the control arm that required tightening on mine, then I added adjustable push rods to correct the toe out. If you want to dive straight at high speed you'll need to add adjustable push rods(steering rods) the factory ones were too short for toe in. After those adjustments it was much easier to control. I tried a 3s battery after adjustments and it was lightning fast popping wheeies on demand even at half throttle. I love this thing I don't think it's necessary but if you want to upgrade the servo, it is smaller than standard ones and I haven't found a match yet. So measure opening befor ordering one. Also I think it may handle better at high speed with a slower servo so you don't over correct. Original review... This thing is fast and even handles slightly overgrown grass with ease. Overall I would recommend to anyone who is capable of minor problem solving. Lots of fun but difficult to steer at high speed. It tends to pull to one side or the other, needing constant correction to drive straight. I think a better servo might do the trick but I haven't ordered one yet. To get started you can turn the top left dial to the left to lower the max speed and turn it back up after you get the hang of the controls. Negatives: Difficult to steer at high speed, the headlights stopped working after a wire came loose(fixed with tape temporarily) and after first outing one of the dog bone drive shafts came loose. (Easy fix but it happened.) I'm still happy with the product for the price. I wanted something I could attempt to improve down the road anyway. ... show more

Purchased this as a gift for our 10 year old son. Have been blown away by how quick the car accelerates and how durable and car has been after 9+ months. Had an issue with 1 battery not recharging, support was there, took care of the issue and bam.. we are back in business. Would buy again, no doubt. ... show more

    • Decent For the Price. Hosim Support is Lackluster
UPDATE: After seeing my review, Hosim finally responded and sent me a new transmitter (and receiver) which fixed the main issue I had with the truck. I’ve also replaced the shocks with oil filled shocks which is essentially a must. I’ve now driven it through about 10 battery cycles and it’s quite good for the price. Everything’s a little looser feeling than my friends *brand name* expensive truck but just for backyard fun, it’s great. I also put one of his 3S batteries in it, the product page claims the controller supports them. I would not recommend doing so. It is extremely fast, too fast really, and I’m not sure the motor can withstand extended use at 11v. Oh and I also sheared everyone if the axle pins using the 3S battery. If you do the same, don’t buy replacement axle pins just find steel dowels. I was able to buy a 100pk of 1.5mmx10mm dowel pins on Amazon for less than a 4pk of “replacement pins” ORIGINAL: Note that many of these reviews are for the slightly cheaper brushed truck, while I selected the more expensive brushless truck. Overall, the important pieces of the truck seem to be of decent quality, especially at this price point. The entire drivetrain is relatively beefy and and all metal and the truck is very quick. A major issue is the lack of oil filled shocks. This truck (at least the brushless version) does not have functioning shocks and is far too fast not to. My experience with this truck has been generally lackluster though as I have yet to fully experience it. I immediately had an issue with transmitter steering input which made it impossible to steer the truck (the transmitters are extremely cheap and poorly made). I reached out to Hosim support via email clearly explaining the issue and they forwarded me to another department "specifically for their Amazon sales." They requested I send them a video of the issue, which I did, again explaining exactly what the issue was and they recommended the tightening of some screws which were clearly unrelated to the issue. After a few more emails, they are now requesting I send a video again and have yet to actually resolve the issue which doesn't allow me to steer the truck. ... show more

The truck overall is fast and fun. The brushless motor has plenty of power for a Rc this size. It comes with the drivetrain beefed up to help with the power of the motor. One complaint I have is that it needs to come with oil filled shocks for what the price of this is. I had the axle cross pins break on me but their customer service took care of me and sent me the parts. ... show more

Was hesitant to buy this but went for it anyways. I'm so glad I did. This truck is awesome. EDIT: was great until the steering servo decided to quit working in the middle of using it. Did more research and found out this is a common issue with this truck. Now it's just sitting and collecting dust.
