Got these because they are CHEAP. But that is the key word, CHEAP. These work, I am using a good number. But if you really want a good squeeze, like fuel lines maybe use two or use better. These are great but maybe not the best for "Mission Critical" stuff. I would not use these on my spaceship : )

    • They are SS, very small and not 5/16" hex nut
They are SS and will work in a bind but very small and not 5/16" hex nut, MUCH smaller. If over tightened they will break

These were great and are must have in the shop. There are a number of sizes to fit just about any hose and they seem to be very durable.

    • 100% failure to properly tighen and seal a low pressure water line.
Faillure at 100%. The clamps fail when tightening, they tighten to a point then the worm gear jumps teeth on the band and will tighen no further. I was using these on several water line connections - five to be exact - I tried eight total clamps and could not achieve one solid connection that did not leak. These were 3 gpm, below 40 psi lines on a boat. The description includes "gas", when (not if) these fail on a gas line it will cause cause a fire. The manufacturer has to know this if they test their product for quality. I strongly recommend not purchasing these clamps. I would go as far as to say that Amazon should not facilitate the sale of a product that can be this dangerous in critical situations. I would not trust these on a zero pressure gravity drain line. I CANNOT STRESS THAT YOU SHOULD NOT USE THESE ON A CRITICAL CONNECTION ... show more
