  • Works as expected, looks fancier than it needs to --but why not!
Style: Terminator
This is a very sleek barrel, I'm not going to lie. The Hosa logo on the end is slick slick slick, way fancier than any object protruding from the back of a DMX fixture needs, but I guess is somebody is paying close attention, why not! I will say that it feels like quality even without the logo button on the end, but it's a nice touch that I hope didn't add to the price much. If I need another DMX terminator I'd definitely feel good about this one. I may get another just as a nerdy spare with flair. ... show more

  • Saved my show
Style: Terminator
Just what you expect. Terminates DMX signal and makes it so your lights all function properly. Very small and easy to pack in with all your other lighting tools. Saved my show.

  • You may need this more than you think.
Style: Terminator
Don't be one of those people who, because you have gone without a terminator and had no problems, ends up thinking termination is for pansies. It's not. If your cable runs over 550 feet, you will definitely need termination. If it's less than that, you will almost definitely need termination. Unterminated systems can work fine. Until they don't. And that can happen in the middle of a show. Lights will flicker, instruments will stop responding, and other gremlins will move in on you. This one works fine and you need it to. ... show more

  • Schrodinger's DMX Terminator

Seems to do the trick, but the item's purpose is a bit of a "Schrodinger's Cat" scenario: Who knows if it works? I've never had issues not using a terminator, but that doesn't mean you won't if you don't. Kudos to the brainchild behind this seemingly lucrative and mysterious item.

  • No problems
Style: Terminator
Well, it's a DMX terminator. It works fine. Since my setup is simple so far (only a single dimmer pack), a terminator is probably not necessary. Planning to add more fixtures in the future, I grabbed this as "cheap insurance" against erratic behavior due to an unterminated signal. The last thing I would want is an expensive set of lighting equipment malfunctioning because I was too cheap to get this little piece of hardware. Update 2/24/2012: Added 4 more fixtures (Blizzard Puck3) and about 200 feet of cabling. The DMX terminator still works fine. Maybe it's a little bulky for some applications, but it presents no problem for me. I still highly recommend it. ... show more

  • DMX Terminator
Style: Terminator
I bought this as i'm running ~75' of cable and wanted to get a jump on any erratic behavior that might arise in the future. Aesthetically, it's not half bad. Simple, but not stunning. About the size of your thumb, plugs in, simple. I couldn't tell you if this actually helps or not, but in the future if i do have issues when it's not in use, i'll be sure to give an update. ... show more
