I charged and tested these lights (while they were still coiled for a couple of days before actually using them, to make sure they were working properly. The number of lights was a little excessive for my project, but it's a good thing that I used them all. Half of one strand stopped working after a couple of weeks, then the other half of that strand crapped out a few weeks later. A couple of months later, the other strand began to fail. Less than a year later, out of 200 bulbs, I have about 4 working lights. I like the color and the brightness of the lights. I like that they are solar powered. I like the idea of being able to use them outside, but they do not hold up in the elements. Except for the solar panels, mine were not even in direct sun and rain since they are mounted under a deep roof overhang. I had high hopes since I have this same type of lights inside, under some cabinets. They require a plug-in, but they are going strong after a couple of years of constant use. When I have the time, I'll remove the solar ones and look for a better alternative. ... show more

Bought these for some diy winter greenery bushes for my dock. Work great, they do fade out after while at night on winter nights without sun but I am very happy. The string separates into smaller strings so provided great coverage for my bushes. I will be using these year round at my cabin!

I bought two of these. One never worked (wouldn’t turn on) and the other was stuck on strobe mode the whole time.

    • You only set it up once.
It’s a challenge to untangle the string. It has very small leds attached to the solid thin wires. (May 24 gage). Don’t buy it if you want to take it down and hang it again next year. Not bad if you just leave it and forget about it.

After a few days without sunshine, I put both units in direct sun. After 10 hours, one units works fine, the second does not work at all. So, obviously, I'm not happy with the purchase.

They're ok for low maintenance and care free but if you want something nice I'd spend little bit extra and get that.
