I bought this to replace my DJI that was crushed by a passing car. Unfortunately, I will be returning this one. With 15 satellites connected, it will not hover steady in place (no wind), bounces around like a drone on drugs, and keeps drifting when the slightest breeze comes up, requiring manual intervention. Most drones will at least try to fight the wind and stick to GPS coordinates. This one does not. Update: I tried a different Holy Stone (175D) and it's great for the price. Considering this thing doesn't have a gimbal, and it was a bit windy, the picture quality is pretty good in my opinion. My negative review for the 710 could have been partly my fault. This app will allow you to take off without properly calibrating. I think that may be what happened before when the drone didn't seem to follow my lead. Obviously, this needs to be fixed, but the drone itself is probably pretty good so I'm changing my rating. Just make sure to do the whole calibration thing. Update: As others have said, Holy Stone Customer Service is great! I couldn't get over feeling a little let down by getting the 1-battery version of the HS710 kit, so I said, "what the heck" and gave them a call. They are sending me a second battery in exchange for this review. Since I was going to post a review one way or the other anyway, why not. I'm still leaving the headline the same, because people considering this drone need to know what they're getting. Other than the battery upset, I'm enjoying this drone. I haven't had much time to work with it, but so far, so good. Very easy to fly for a beginner like me. Original review: As of Nov. 2022, the HS710 kit offered on Amazon only comes with ONE battery. The Product Description says it comes with two batteries, though elsewhere in the description is does say one battery. Reading the Q&A's, apparently it came with two batteries in the past. If you read the Holy Stone website, it also states the HS710 should come with two batteries. But the one I ordered on 11/25/22 only came with one battery. I feel kinda ripped off. Now I'm going to have to spend another $30 for a second battery. So much for my great Black Friday deal. ... show more

    • Excellent drone
I read many reviews from "so called" experts and most of them claimed a different drone as "best" to buy for 2022. I was fortunate to come across Holy Stone HS710. At first I was hesitant to buy after seeing an average of customer bad experiences of around 6 %. But then I used some logic and common sense, as examples : 1- I would in comfort say 99 % of movies in theaters are pure crap and people wait in line to shell hard earned money for 2 hours to see crap they will forget tomorrow. 2- In comfort i would say 90 % of places to get a decent meal fail horrendously for their price and quality. 3- Multitude of the masses waste money on a one in "godzillion" chance to win the lottery. 4- You don't get a refund if the movie sucks, you don't get a refund if you get the "squirts" from a restaurant, you don't get another lottery ticket if you don't win anything. 5-But on the bright side, if you fail to read drone instructions, if you fail to update your phone, if you fail for having a no-brand phone, if you fail for expecting results like a pro-drone that costs thousands of dollars then it is your fault. Finally, your odds of getting a good drone as Holy Stone are much better than examples 1 thru 5 listed. In closing, if you are in the 6 % bracket be happy and quit sniveling, customer support is great if you take pictures and document your results and you will get excellent results from Holy Stone. ... show more

    • HS710 Is a Tough Little Bird
This little drone has really earned its worth and reliability. On Thanksgiving we flying it out the farm when a thunderstorm popped up. By mistake…I hit the land button, parked it on top of a 60’ Oak Tree, overnight express parking you could say. That drone set in the top of that tree until today. It was exposed to very heavy rains and cold winds for 8 days. I figured it was a total write off due the drenching it had taken for 3 days. Once it was retrieved by bow and arrow with a fishing line trail connected to 200’ of ski rope she came on down. Gave it a good visual inspection, put in a charged battery and wouldn’t you know it, she flys again! Zero damage done getting her down too. All 8 props are still in really great shape to boot. I know it’s not water resistant and expected the worse outcome. Holy Stone did it right when building the little 710 as she’s been proven to me to be tough little bird! At this point I would recommend in Holy Stone product. Well worth the price, and very forgiving. ... show more

    • Great Beginner Drone with Extra Features
I've had smaller FPV drones, but have had difficulty with managing flight and video in even slightly windy conditions as I have to account for that. This drone, it has an intelligent hover capability; put the controls at neutral, and the drone will hover in place compensating for the wind. I also like it's return home feature, which makes it easy to land, and keeps me safe if I loose sight of it. The camera provides good pictures/video and I really like the ability to adjust the downward angle. The camera is otherwise fixed, so you get movement in the video, but the quality is good, and for the price, this system is complete with features. I downgraded a star because when returning home on a windy day, it seems to have trouble determining the landing spot, it will circle rapidly the spot, and needs to be briefly under manual control before landing. I tried the automatic map movements and didn't have enough height. It handled collision and falling from a tree well. Finally, the battery is giving me over 20 minutes of flight time, which is nice, and it came with two batteries and a nice soft side case. ... show more
