These are the only casual shoes for me. Flat shoes hurt my back, but these have enough cushion so each step is easier. Walking on the treadmill is easier because of the way the sole is constructed, it helps me spring forward into the next step. I now walk a little faster, not like before in flat shoes where I felt like I was dragging my feet along. These are expensive but worth it. ... show more

Great shoe

This is my new favorite shoe. Another reviewer complained that they only lasted (were comfortable) for 6 months. That was a selling point for me. I walk about 4 miles a day. If shoes are comfortable for 6 months, that's great. I think I've had these about 8 months, and I'm still wearing them; although, I've already purchased my next pair. I'm just continuing to wear the old ones while I'm outside a lot. They are lightweight and have a roomy toebox without looking boxy. Arch support may be adequate for people without plantar fasciatus, but I always substitute a different innersole with more arch support. ... show more

Love these shoes for walking comfort. Great support and stability especially when you have a “ bone on bone” knee that hurts when I wear other shoes! It’s all about support. I am a active 70 year old.. these shoes work for me.

Impressive performance

I didn’t realize how comfortable these shoes were until my nursing clinicals! I originally bought these shoes after doing a lot of research, but honestly, I didn’t think much about how comfortable they were once I started wearing them. During one of my clinical rotations, I noticed that two of my male classmates were frequently squatting down or resting their hands on their knees because they seemed to be getting tired from standing and walking for so long. They were wearing regular shoes. Meanwhile, I was wearing my Bondi 9 and didn’t really feel like I was having the same problem. I didn’t even think much of it at the time. Later, I noticed that one of my classmates had switched to the same shoes as mine. 😂 The large HOKA logo made it pretty easy for me to recognize them! They are definitely expensive, but after actually wearing them through clinicals, I can say that I think they are worth the money. I bought this sneakers because I saw there were many comments saying they're good for people who suffer from plantar faciitis, like me. I can't say they do miracles but they are definitely the most comfortable sneakers I have. They are soft, lightweight and you feel a little like bouncing when using them. They really are so comfortable when the laces are tied just right. I'm working 9-11 hour shifts and these shoes make it almost effortless. I'd give them 5 stars if they weren't so unattractive. At first I had the laces snug and it irritated the outer edge of my pinkie and foot bones. Slightly loosened did the trick. They also feel very stable. As someone who has sprained both ankles I was worried about the platform feel but they are very supportive. They are also surprisinging lightweight and cool even in 90+ heat and humidity.
