"Who let the dogs out?" Oh wait, that's not relevant here. But, what is relevant is the fact that I recently purchased Hill's Science Diet Adult, Large Breed Dog Dry Food and let me tell you, it's been a game changer for my furry best friend. This premium dog food promises "perfect poop in 7 days" and I have to say, it delivered. One of the pros of this dog food is that it supports ultimate digestive well-being and a healthy microbiome, which is especially important for large breeds. Additionally, the larger kibble size is perfect for my big boy and he seems to love it. The food contains ActivBiome+ Technology, which is an exclusive blend of prebiotics, plus whole grain oats and pumpkin. The high quality chicken being the number one ingredient is also a plus, as it ensures that my pup is getting the best nutrition possible. I highly recommend Hill's Science Diet to any dog owner looking to provide their furry friend with the best nutrition possible. My aunt has been a veterinarian for 30+ years, raves about Science Diet and has exclusively fed it to her dogs for as long as I can remember. I mean, we're talking about well over a decade-- maybe twice that. You can read the rest of my review, but really that first bit is all you should care about. Science Diet makes quality food, consults with vets (instead of being some trendy here-today, gone-next-recall company), and uses quality ingredients. This food in particular I mixed in about 30/70 with my dogs current food and they've inhaled this every meal for the last week or two since I started. The food has a decently strong odor-- it's not bad, but you can smell the bag as soon as you open it. Whatever it is supposed to taste like, my dogs are going nuts for it. I have not noticed any stomach issues that can happen when transitioning food. As I'm still transitioning it into their diet, I can't fully comment on this being the "Perfect Digestion" food either. If you're looking for a permanent food to get your dogs on, you can't go wrong with Science Diet. I don't know if they've ever had a recall of their dry dog food (some quick internet searching shows some recalls of their soft food for too much Vitamin D--- but I can't find any kibble recalls) and it's not just my aunt, virtually any vet I've talked to highly recommends Science Diet. It's a bit pricier, but at least you don't have to worry about kidney or liver issues popping up down the road. ... show more

    • Definitely LARGE Breed Kernels
Hill's Science Diet makes a ton of different dog foods to cater towards specific breeds, certain afflictions, age groups, etc.. They also make a seperate line of foods called Hills Prescription Diet that are only available from your vet. We've used their food on different occasions over the years (both prescription & store versions) (cat & dog). And outside of some of the prescription variations, all of our pups have liked them. This blend is no different. And the claims of perfect poop (whatever that means exactly) have held true. I waited over several weeks before writing this review. I wanted to make sure our lab had completely transitioned off of her old food. This would allow the new food the best chance to live up to its promises (perfect poop in 7 days). While I'm not sure what "perfect" is, her poop definitely looks "normal." Please note, that the kernel size is for LARGE BREED & they mean it! Kernels have to be at least the size of a nickel. So don't plan on giving this to your little guy. Our lab even had to work on it a bit longer than usually & she's a professional eater! Outside of this concern, however, she really likes the food, has had no other adverse reactions, her coat looks good, her energy level is still great & she is active & playful as always. ... show more

Science diet is a really great quality dog food. It is actually the food that my vet recommends and Carrys in stock in their clinic. This particular kind of science diet is more expensive that others and ot is a higher priced food because of the quality of ingredients. My dog absolutely loves science diet though, nots one she gobbles down and doesnt get picky over. The. Ags have a velcro resealable top, which is really nice, we actually put the whole bag inside of a bog food container with a scoop, we used to dump it into a container because it had a lid but the vet told us that the oils from dog food can stick to the plastic and go bad, then ruin new food you put in it, causing skin allergies and irritations, so we just put a whole bag into the container now and seal it up, we like the bags that reseal though because it seems to keep the food fresher also and pur dog will like it for longer. I cant attest to of thisnhas changed our dogs poop yet, if I notice I can update, but I'm very pleased with this brand. I especially love that they have senior diets and foods with less proteins because senior dogs aren't supposed to have as much meat, our vet told us it can lead to obesity because your dog can't process high proteins like they anymore when they get older. ... show more
