I can't speak for the flavor since I haven't tried them. My miniature dachshund won't eat them, but then he thinks he's a prince and is very picky. My standard dachshund won't turn anything down and will eat these, so I think that's a positive.

I use a lot of Hills products. But, I should have realized that crunchy meant that it could be too dried out and stiff for an elderly dog to chew. Elderly dogs who have had regular dental care probably have had some extractions. This product is too crunchy for an elderly dog to chew. I have used a knife to split the treats into smaller pieces that would be less stressful to the mouth of the elderly dog. The treats are rather large and I cannot hand the treat directly to the small dog. My large dog could take the whole treat, but she is also missing a few teeth. Our grandpu loves these cookies. He knows when I head to his cupboard. I like them because they don't upset his finicky stomach. He was recently switched to science diet and have had no more tummy issues.
