I’m really pleased with this saddle and would buy it again. Do I think it will last 50 years? No, but will it get me through the phase of life I’m in where I have two small children hanging off me and want to ride? I would say yes, for sure and have no reason to think it won’t last much longer. I can carry this saddle in one hand and wrangle a toddler with the other. My family recently got this little mare who was sweet but skinny and we’re getting some weight on her. She is does not seem to have any problem with this little saddle. It barely weighs anything. I’m 5’5” wear a size 12 Jean and I find it very comfortable. The photos are from the first day I got it. The saddle pad was to keep it clean while I tried it out. I don’t recommend that kind of pad with this saddle. The little stirrups my child is using in the photo are an add on I also bought on Amazon. It slips like crazy if you don’t get a non slip pad so I highly recommend that. I also started using it with a breastplate and that made a difference as well. That does add an extra step or two but worth it to me. Overall, I like it. I love how light it is and if you use the nonslip pad, breastplate and possibly a mounting block you should have no issues. ... show more

This product needs more reviews! Pros: great transition to bareback. I was already riding full bareback so this was more like a treeless saddle to me. I still liked it though! Extremely lightweight. Very well made. Suede is beautiful and helps grip. Stirrups are removable but are great for steep declines. Seat is high backed allowing for a relaxed walk on a trail. Cons: this is basically a treeless, suede, English saddle. Stirrups are not comfortable for long distances. Saddle will slip! I got a neoprene pad to go on underneath and have had great results! No slip! This is not a true “bareback pad”. It is more like a saddle. The back is high and seems to correct posture but is a little challenging to your balance. Overall: I would recommend this pad. Either way, you’re going to learn balance and be more prepared for full bareback, but don’t get stuck here. Keep going down, but keep this little saddle. It’s great for kids! ... show more

Got this to use on my 3 year old rocky mountain horse. Wanted something to ride him with that was lightweight while he is in training. I dont always want to completely tack up just to get on him for 10 minutes. Very comfortable and solid structure.
