If you are looking for high-temperature cotton replacement for your hand warmer, this stuff will work nicely and is the cheapest option I have found. For my "Pocket" sized hand warmer, there is enough material in the 12in x 12in to rebuild at least 4-5 of them, maybe more. I would recommend cutting into squares and then "peeling" layers off so it is more "fluffed up". I tried it both without ripping it up and this way. You use less material and I think a more consistent fill In the container for fuel leading to more consistent heat. If done right, you can peel 4-5 layers or more ending up with a bunch of black cotton like material. You then stuff that, one piece at a time into the small opening after first removing the cotton you are replacing. It really does work great and eliminates the burnt cotton I would constantly have to rip off. It's all on youtube.

I purchased this welding blanket specifically to use as a blanket on my 34 inch Traeger grill to raise the maximum temperature. the 3x3 size fit perfectly, from the edge of the handle around to being nicely down the back of the grill, beyond the midpoint. in 44 degree weather it raised my maximum temp by 40 plus degrees and reduced the temperature variance down to 7 degrees (from around 20 degree variance without the blanket). it's a nicely finished blanket and wasn't hot to the touch to remove from a hot grill when i had to open it. very lightweight, works excellent as a grill blanket for my Traeger pellet grill.

I’m a mechanic. I bought this because I reside in the rust belt of the US. I have to use a torch on a lot of jobs. This comes in handy when the piece you have to torch is next to something plastic or something that shouldn’t be hit with a flame. It can literally take a direct flame without damaging anything.
