I am surprised that Hi-Tie made the silk ties low quality. I love Hi-Tie. And never an issue until now. It seems that it was sowed on too tight and the tie wrinkled. I had to pull on both ends and make the thread snap. Then it seemed ok. Poor quality on these silk ties.

For the price point, this is a nice tie. I especially like that it is an extra-long tie at this price point. It is not only hard, but expensive, to shop for clothes when God made you to be on the O-line, so while this may not be the fanciest tie, it is a nice tie at a nice price point. The material feels soft and like it is a decent quality. I haven't noticed any imperfections in the material or construction. It is tipped with black material so you know it is not a higher end tie, but it has a nice appearance overall. Although the description says silk, the product details actually list the material as a silk/polyester blend. I could not find anywhere that listed the specific blend of the tie, so I would assume there is a low percentage of silk in the blend. It looks like it, and the price point and omission suggest it. There is a tie clip included in the pack. It is silver colored with a few vertical lines. I could not find anything about the material in the clip, so I would expect it to be primarily nickel and to discolor rather quickly. The set also comes with a lapel pin with a small, fabric flower of sorts. The "flower" of this one is made of the burgundy shell fabric and black tipping fabric. It reminds me of a yarn pom-pom made with small fabric strips. The one that came in my pack was completely mashed and the stick pin is so thin that it is easily bent. The description lists "white box packaging" as if to say it is special packaging. It is not. It is not even a tie box. It is simply a small box made with the same material (if not even thinner material) that the shirt boxes are that you get at departments stores. This box would not be appropriate to use when giving the tie as a gift in a situation where impressions matter. Despite my lingering questions, it is a decent tie overall, and is offered at a good price point.
