You always have friends telling how great certain items are that they like. Like shoes for example, I had been told how comfortable these “Hey Dudes” were but was always skeptical that shoes like these never hold up. So, I finally broke down and I bought these Hey Dudes about a year ago. Based on their sizing, comfortability, and affordability, I was astounded by them. I have broken 3 vertebrae in my lower back and have had 4 back surgeries, so for me finding a pair of shoes that are not only stylish but also comfortable is a feat (pun not intended) to say the least. I not only have to check soles and insoles, but also the ease of getting them on and off. Which a lot of time I end up having to sacrifice comfort to get the style of shoe I’m needing for a certain dress attire. Sizing can be a bit of a challenge for me because I require an 11 ½ wide so which is not common in some brands. Most people when buying a pair of shoes, they must try them on to determine if the size is right. The size of the shoe on the box will get most people in the general ballpark of the right size. But like jeans, shoe size often varies slightly by the brand and make of the shoe. Some shoe brands like Hey Dudes do not make the half sizes, so if you wear a size 11 ½ you must settle for either a size 11 or 12. However, with Hey Dudes if you require a wide fit shoe Hey Dudes has it covered. Like I typically require a size 11 ½ wide shoe, and the size 12 fits great. Overall, Hey Dudes are accurate to the size they claim. Comfortability is partial to the individual. Whether some people like a super soft sole or rigid sole. Hey Dudes sit almost center of the scale on that. I have a bad back and I have tried shoes with similar types of soles. Most of which crushed down after wearing them for an extended period or consistently wear them and didn’t last a more than a couple weeks and I was on to finding another pair of shoes. So, when I was looking at them in stores, I would just set them back on the shelf and walk away. After buying the first pair, my skepticism was gone. I can wear them all day and my feet still great. The only downside to the sole is they wear down after a year or so and become slick if walking on a wet service. So, they’ll need to be replaced after that, but at their price, it’s easy on the wallet. When it comes to affordability, I sometimes will pay the extra money to get a good pair of shoes. However, whether you look at Amazon or the Hey Dudes website, the prices are matching. With the popularity of Hey Dudes at the time I expected a much higher price, I was again surprised on how reasonable the cost was. And since I’ve bought mine, the price has even decreased. Sure, you can find a cheaper price with the off brands, but you also sacrifice quality sometimes. After looking over the shoes and wearing them for about a year, I would definitely recommend them. They fit good, comfortable all day, and they are affordable. I would give the Hey Dude shoe 5 out of 5 stars. I think most people know what to expect from these shoes. This is my second pair, and I got a "nicer" look in the second one. They really are simple, so mostly for around the house or by the pool, but this second pair I could wear out and either dress them up (to an extent) or down and it would work. These are great-looking shoes and I like them for that. They are very lightweight, and I question how the canvas might hold up with my fairly large male frame if I was wearing them constantly. They are also a slight bit tighter in the toes than other shoes of the same size. I decided to keep them and have been wearing them indoors in my office, taking my heavy outdoor shoes off when I come in and slipping these on. They are nice for around the office and look good in a business casual kind of way. The toes are still a little tight, but they are beginning to break in a little bit. The right shoe has a ridge inside that presses on the ball of my foot near my toes. When the in sole of the shoe was put in something shifted that caused it to bunch up so there is a hard ridge. Hoping it will flatten out as I wear it. If not I wasted $70 dollars. It must be a random mistake since my daughters have had no issues with theirs. Other than that they are comfortable. Edit: The ridge flattened out some since I took out the insole and worked on it. It’s much better and comfortable now. I will continue to buy these shoes and recommend them to others. ... show more

Very comfortable straight out of the box. I am a fan of Hey Dude since their sneakers and have had several pairs over the last few years. I wear 10.5 but all my Hey Dudes are 11 and they fit just fine. Wide enough to be very comfortable, without being loose. These shoes were very comfortable and very light! My only complaint is, the insole's material is very grippy, which makes getting them on and off sometimes difficult, especially with socks. The edge around the back of the shoe is also somewhat bulky and digs into the back of my heel, but I can feel it relaxing as I've worn them for a while. I did have to exchange mine for size reasons, though. I'm typically between 8 and 9 in most brands (8 in Chacos, for instance.) In my case, size 8 was too short, but otherwise fit great. Size 9 fits in length but is maybe slightly too wide. My feet do seem slightly on the narrow side, though. ... show more

Read a bunch of reviews that said to size up sized up and they were way too big. I usually wear a 9/10 in sneakers and the 9s are still a little roomy and the heel slips off a little bit. I think and 8 would be too snug on the toes though. I have weird shaped feet though so idk how much this helps.
