Like girls have a thing for shoes, I got a thing for backpacks. Over the years I bought many brands and have had many experiences with needing space, needing more flexibility... All of that vanished when I started buying Herschel. I like the Little America design, and had never bought a Pop Quiz one. My mistake. This bag is a regular college sized backpack and I love it so much now! I bought the grey one and the big quantity of pockets is what got me with the pack. It has an inside pocket that can fit a small water bottle or, what i think is brilliant, a portable charger. Yeah, hear me out, the best feature in this backpack is the small portable charger pocket inside the pack. You always know where your charger is, you can easily access is from the sides of the inside of the bag (for those times you just stuff it with a lot of things) and it is always there. The other good thing about herschel (not even talking about how nice it looks) is the attention to detail, the top pocket for glasses that you dont have to think about a case, because it is felted (and I always use for the Airpods or a pair of earphones), the front pocket with the key holder... I mean, it will probably fit your style, whichever it might be. If you are looking for a great backpack, worth the price, go for this one. The only one that would be better than this, would be the Little america if it had more pockets.

I bought this backpack to take on business travel. It may sound odd, but as a woman I don't like carrying a separate purse and laptop bag. It's twice the hassle at security and just makes my shoulders feel tired since they generally all just have one handle. I really wanted to try out a backpack. My requirements were that it be light, reasonably stylish, have a padded sleeve for my laptop, and be able to function as a purse. This backpack has 100% fit the bill. The laptop sleeve fits my 15' Dell perfectly. I should note that the sleeve is not TSA approved, so in some (but not all) airports you'll still have to take your laptop out of the backpack to get through security. I love all of the pockets, and the main compartment easily fit all of my computer accessories, two books, my jacket, snacks, and a spare pare of flats. That's a lot! It never felt uncomfortable or over-packed. This backpack is really just perfect, and it has a lot of nice surprises. It's definitely authentic and if you're thinking about buying it, I don't think you'll regret it! One complaint I saw in other reviews was the front zipper being difficult to unzip. I'll agree that it's a little tougher to move than the other zippers (mainly because of the fabric flap that covers it), but it actually made me feel a bit more secure. The fact that it takes a little extra effort to move it would actually mean I'd be more likely to notice someone trying to steal from it.

I think it exceeded my expectations actually. I'm a college student who has to haul around textbooks to and from campus (I commute not dorm) so I needed a really good book bag that won't give me back aches when I have to stand on the train going home. What was also important to me was a bag with a good laptop space because I also bring it with me everyday. This bag does the trick even though it is a bit large. I'm a very small person so it does look big on me. But the compartments make it so much easier to organize. It's very easy to slip on and off. The adjustable straps are a little bit hard to work with. I find that I have to take off the bag, adjust and then try on, rather than adjusting it on my back. But overall this bag is comfortable and I recommend to any college students or anyone who has a lot of stuff to carry every day. Also with the string out of place issue that everyone had, I also did find a loose string but it was so minor I just cut it and there were no more problems.

I love the design on this bag, and it is spacious enough to fit a 13 inch MacBook Air, over ear headphones, a large chemistry textbook, a folder, a pencil pouch, a water bottle, and two notebooks with room to spare for things like a folded lab coat, the laptop pocket is raised so your laptop won't touch the ground while standing up the bag and it is lined with very soft material which is nice. My main problem is that there's no water bottle pocket on the outside of the bag, so I wound up just clipping it to side or putting it inside the bag neither of which are ideal.

First I'll mention the good; this is a very handsome backpack (raven x-hatch) and seems well constructed. I didn't experience any issues with the zippers that can't be explained by it being a brand new backpack. Just in 10-15 minutes of exploring the bag, the zippers on mine have already loosened quite a bit. I have to doubts that a week or so of regular use would have them singing. The waterproof design is always going to make getting into the bag a bit more difficult than a non-waterproof design, but the trade-off is that it should keep your expensive electronics nice and dry. Now we get to the problem. This is sold as a backpack that can hold a 15" laptop, but the truth is that it can fit a 15" Macbook Pro. I suspect even the similarly svelte XPS 15 would be a bit of a tight fit, as it's a bit wider than the MBP. The issue is that the felt-lined laptop sleeve is in the very back, so while both of the laptops I have at hand can fit in the sleeve (a bargin-bin Toshiba from several years ago, and an MSI GS-65), the bag isn't able to zip, which rather defeats the purpose. Both laptops can fit into the non-lined main compartment, but that leaves no room for much else in the bag, but it is a somewhat workable solution. I'm sure that a lot of the target audience for this bag will be using to for the aforementioned Macbook Pro, and for them, I'm sure it'll be a great bag. For anyone else, it might be best to look elsewhere.
