I am a 72 year old woman who still loves to travel to Europe with only a backpack. PROS: 1.) LIGHTWEIGHT!!!! Even with 3 pairs of pants, 7 shirts, hiking shoes, socks, toiletries.... TOTAL WEIGHT 10 lbs! This bag is actually HUGE. I also have the smaller one and while this is only about a half inch bigger on all sides, for some reason there is an enormous difference in the amount I can put inside. The smaller is 24L. I have been researching backpacks for months. In fact, have become “addicted” to comparisons. What I’ve found is that all the little extras... add weight! That weight makes a lot of difference when it is on your back. As far as a luggage sleeve... I can add it myself! Just use FABRI-TAC! In fact, with Fabri-tac, you can add your own lightweight pockets etc. wherever you want! I’m going to add a pocket to the shoulder strap. Easy. 2.) SHOULDER STRAPS! It is IMPERATIVE to be able to easily and quickly adjust the straps once I put it on my shoulders.. and be able to loosen the straps to take it off quickly! ( Ie: you are boarding the airplane and want to wear it down the aisle... yet get it off quickly at your seat.) You can tighten the straps EASILY by pulling on each strap... then loosen it by pushing down on the plastic tab. Easy on and off! The shoulder straps mesh are a bit scratchy IF you only have on a tank top and are putting it on open skin. BOTTOM LINE... this gives you a ton of space without weight! And it fits under the airline seat. APPEARANCE: I got the solid black. This is “classy” looking. I can carry it on cruise ship excursions instead of a purse. No crazy straps or water bottle holders. It does have “water bottle” pockets on the side, that you can use for anything. They don’t stick out. For me... comfort yet looking classy is everything, and this little bag is it. (You really don’t need all the other “stuff” on heavier backpacks.) I am only carrying clothes. Will carry passport and money in slash proof neck pouch. PRICE: !!! Come on! This is 100% quality without cost! I can definitely travel for weeks with this, hop on and off trains, ferries in Greece! (7 shirts/3 pants/shoes)! I can do that!

I bought the XL 30L backpack and I’m glad I did I was considering the mid-volume or classic size but I think they would have been to small for me. I’m 5’11 and this backpack fits me perfectly it does not feel too big or too small. It Also comes with a laptop sleeve and it has sleeves on the sides for water bottles as well (fits my 18oz water bottle but anything bigger defiantly wouldn’t fit) overall I’m really happy with this backpack the only thing I’m not a fan of is how big the Herschel patch is but it’s not a big deal.

Spacious, comfortable, and sturdy! After looking through what seemed to be every option, I am Glad that I purchased This particular bag. The reviews can be misleading as there are various sizes to choose from. The 30L is perfect for those wishing to carry the works. This bag is able to fit my MacBook air in the protective pocket( with plenty of room leftover for a larger laptop), all four of my texts (one standard size and three thick mid sized books), ipad (with thick keyboard case), glasses case, and my pencil pouch all in the larger pocket. The front pocket is quite large and can easily fit any additional small items you wish to carry. What is really extraordinary is how comfortable the bag is. I am a backpack nut and have tried every style/type of book bag and this one takes the cake. Like my other hershel model, the straps are super padded, giving you comfort while lugging around all of your gear. The shape itself is strong and sturdy, keeping the bag from dropping (as someone with multiple disc herniations...this bag is a miracle). The same items mentioned above in most other bags is just downright painful, not with this bag. Side pockets are nice and big, fully fitting my 32oz hydro flask. Be skeptical of negative reviews that do not mention the size of bag they purchased. If you’re looking for a simply designed bag with plenty of room, get the large size! I purchased The mustard/yellow color and it is exactly the shade shown in the photos.

This backpack is perfect. It is NOT a fake, and it is great quality. It came in a plastic dust bag, with tags and everything. It has a laptop sleeve, water bottle side pockets, and the straps are cushioned so it helps when carrying all my heavy books. I go to school in florida so I will say that when I wear a tank top, the straps are pretty scratchy and uncomfortable, but other than that, it's perfect. The backpack is also rather large lol i'm 5'3'' and its a little big for me. I ordered it in light pink and have gotten a lot of compliments on it as well. A little pricey, but I know it will last me a long time.

This is my first Hershel bag and I am definitely impressed with the quality of the materials and zippers. This bag is very simple, with just one front pocket and the main compartment. There isn’t a laptop sleeve or bottle holder on the side, so it’s very basic in that way. I’m definitely very happy with it and love the old school look. The only changes I’d make is the straps are a little stiff and uncomfortable (not ergonomically shaped like other backpacks I’ve owned). I hope they break in a little because they do hurt a bit after wearing a long time by digging into my breast area. (Large breasted women beware, haha.) But all in all, it’s a really nice bag.

I got sick of carrying around a huge diaper bag and when my son turned 3 all i really needed was a diaper and some wipes with a snack or two. Fits it all plus my wallet and keys and MORE! Front pocket is handy for my chapstick and sunscreen. I get lots of compliments on this.
