This little lawn aerator was just what I needed to aerate my small sized yard. I like getting my exercise through yard work, so this fit the bill. It works really well in moist to semi moist ground, but a tad more difficult in hard, dry ground. With the dry ground, it still works. I just needed to clean the tines more often whereas with moist ground it squirts the dirt plug right out with the next use. The nut covers on the handle disappeared fairly quickly and I needed to tighten the nuts after each when I was finished using it for the day. Not a real problem, but if not done, I could see the tool warping or perhaps breaking/bending. My only complaint was with its size. I am 6’3” though, so not much is set for my height. I am quite pleased with this tool. It takes some time to do, but requires no gas and makes no noise nor pollution. If your area is relatively small, this will be perfect. If you have a larger area, it will just take more time to piece sections until complete. If you are looking at this item, I say buy it- you won’t regret it. ... show more

Great product out of the box. I assembled it myself but I have have found that with time it can be a little wobbly. In order to push the spikes into the ground you have to use a bit of force and effort and over time that force can loosen the nuts and bolts a little. Nothing a quick tightening can’t fix but it can be a little annoying over time. ... show more

I would like to say I've been looking for a had tool like this for a while now and I'm glad I found it. I found out that the trick to use it to to play around with a garden hose or sprinkler system. You want to get the ground soft enough so the tool is easy to use but not too muddy that it will mess-up your lawn. Once you know the right amount of water to use water your lawn the day before then go in and use the tool the next day. If you use the tool on non water grass no madder how strong the tool is you will most likely hurt your foot or brake the tool over time. I found the tool well built for it's price range and as long as you do a small area on your free time you can do a larger area if you so chose to do so. It's also great where you have shallow utility lines and don't want to use a machine. (It's totally great for highly trawled areas where the soil is compacted and the grass doesn't grow as well once you soften up the soil the rain and nutrient will get down to the grass roots faster and promote better grass in the long run.) It would be nice if it came with a better user manual for beginners but it was pretty easy to understand on how to put it together. ... show more

Didn't feel like kicking out 100 bucks to rent a power aerator so I got this. Went together easy and works well. We have nasty, rocky gound and this worked fine in it without any breaks or dings. Plugs just come right out. Glad I found this

Assembly was easy, however, a little unclear. The overall sturdiness of the aerator is ok but is still a little loose even when fully tightened. I used this product after a light rain in my highly compacted yard. Sprayed with a lubricant and it worked well for two spots and then the plugs got stuck and stopped falling out. I had to manually pull them out. At the end of the day, the concept is great but the execution seems to miss the mark since the plugs stay in and it basically becomes an oversized tine aerator. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was so excited to receive this aerator.... but totally disappointed. The holes did not line up and the 2 middle bars were not the same length. Where did they have these parts made and where was the quality control department. It was about 10 to 15 dollars less than all the others I seen... So I guess again.... you get what you pay for. but with that said... it shouldn't have cost them anymore to make them with correct dimensions. ... show more
