  • Super fun, family friendly way to break the ice and get to know the other players
Style: Herd Mentality - Main Game + Bonus Content
Summary: Herd Mentality is a game for 4+ players, ages 10+, from Big Potato Games. (Please see the enclosed pictures.) I highly recommend this game for any group game setting. Each round, a player draws a question, asks the crowd, and everyone (including the reader) writes down an answer. Then, tally up the number of players with the same answer. The players who wrote the most common answer each get a point. The first player to eight points wins. If there is a tie for that round getting to eight points, the winning total goes to nine points and so on until there is a clear winner. One additional rule is important, if you give an answer that is the least popular then you win the "pink cow." You cannot get rid of the pink cow until someone else wins it. You cannot win the game until you get rid of the pink cow. Here are some examples, if four people are playing, and the question is "what is the best flavor of ice cream?" then you could have the following situations: Players A & B say vanilla, and players C & D say chocolate. There are no clear winners and no one gets the pink cow. Players A & B say vanilla, player C says chocolate, and player D says strawberry. Players A & B get one point each. Players A, B & C say vanilla, and player D says chocolate. Players A, B & C get one point, and player D gets the pink cow. On to the Dr Games’ Criteria … GO/NO GO Criterion • Complexity: (GO) This is a relatively easy game. • Balanced: (GO) The game is completely balanced. • Chance: (GO) There is an element of chance in which cards you are drawn and read. • Clarity: (GO) The rules are completely clear. • Reasonable Time: (GO) It generally takes 10-20 minutes. Bonus Criteria • Social: The game is very social, fun, and you learn a lot about the other players. • Unique/Interesting Mechanics: The awarding of the pink cow makes the game much more interesting. • Informed: You potentially learn a lot about the other players. • Rewards Throughout: Yes, once you get a point, it is yours forever. ... show more

  • Really elevates the MOOd!
Style: Spin Master Games
Looking for a game that’ll have your friends shouting, “What were you thinking?!” while simultaneously cackling like hyenas? Herd Mentality is it. We brought this game out at a recent game night, and let’s just say, alliances were formed, friendships were tested, and someone may have mooed so hard they snorted. Gameplay The concept is simple: be a sheep. No, really. The goal is to match your answer with the majority of the herd. If the question is, “What’s the best pizza topping?” and you dare to say anchovies while everyone else writes pepperoni, congratulations—you’re now the proud owner of the Pink Cow card. And trust me, you do not want that card. Highlights Watching someone go on a passionate tirade because they think “pineapple” is the obvious answer to "best pizza topping." Realizing how weirdly specific your friends’ thought processes are. (“What’s the best way to spend a Saturday?” Apparently, not everyone agrees that “Netflix and naps” is the universal truth.) The Pink Cow card becoming a badge of shame that people will fight tooth and hoof to avoid. Pros Quick to learn, so even your most distracted friends will get it. Perfect for all ages—just don’t play with that one edgy cousin who insists on writing inappropriate answers. Endless opportunities to roast each other’s logic—or lack thereof. Cons If you’re a contrarian who loves being different, prepare to lose. A lot. Someone will inevitably get salty when their answer is the only outlier. (“HOW is ‘watermelon’ not the best fruit?!”) Final Thoughts Herd Mentality is the perfect mix of lighthearted fun and chaotic debate. It’s easy to play, impossible to predict, and guarantees laughs every single time. Just remember, in this game, being basic is a virtue. Now excuse me while I try to convince my friends that “crocs” are obviously the best footwear... 🐄 ... show more

Style: Herd Mentality - Main Game + Bonus Content
Great family game to play with all ages! It was fun to sit around with family to hear what ideas they came up with! It’s a fast paced game and not hard to set up or time consuming. Worth the money for a great game night and definitely has the fun element to keep you thinking as well!

  • Same As Original.
Style: Moosic and Moovies Edition
Originally, I was a little annoyed at the price (seemed really expensive for what I thought was a smaller box expansion). But, when I got the box in, it made more sense. The box is the same size as the original game. You don't need the other edition to play this version of herd mentality - so, essentially, you could buy this version and play it as a standalone. I LOVE big potato games: they are really so easy that just about anyone can play and catch on quick! This game hits the table often along with Chameleon and Sounds Fishy. For MOOOOOOSIC and MOOOOOOVIES, the topics are pretty fun and everything seems pretty well made. No complaints. The speed of play is the same as the regular game. It's really an easy game (you could play with kids, no problem, if they can write). The prompts are varied. My critical feedback would be two things: 1) Games like this usually have a fun twist to make it different from the original. Sure, the golden cow is different visually; but, there's no difference in game play. Same game, different color scheme (basically). 2) Have an option to buy new cards to expand the original game. Overall, this isn't a must have if you own the original version - but it's a good game overall and I would recommend it if you were more into the theme of this specific version. ... show more
