I did not get this kit to become a Ferrier. I got this kit because I do a lot in blacksmithing and everything in here the nips, the files, the nails I use on a regular basis for cutting metal or holding metal, filing it down trimming brass copper and shaping wood for the handles of the knives I make, and this was to replace the nips that after eight years, finally blew themselves part

With the exception of the clinchers, everything is tiny. Rasp isn’t good for anything except MAYBE a miniature. And the nail snips are ridiculously TINY. Definitely not big enough to do the job at hand. Ended up acquiring other tools.

This is the most thrown together farrier kit I could have ever imagined. It looks like every item in this kit was surplus from some company that went bankrupt or factory that closed down. I don't think any two tools were branded the same or look like they came from the same manufacturer except for the shears. Everything is mismatched. Some of the items are so cheap and poorly made that they should just go in the trash. Couple of the items though aren't too bad. The hoof knife has a decent blade on it and is nice and sharp but the handle feels cheap and hollow. The rasp also looks decent but I'm pretty sure I've seen these sold at my local discount brick and mortar store (not naming any names here). The gloves are garbage and you can see straight through them. The head for the hammer is held on with silicone glue. Will it work? Yes. This is something you want to own? Probably not.
