We use these Hefty Slider Freezer bags in the gallon size for so many things. When we buy deli lunch meat on sale, my wife portions it out and freezes in one of these bags. Therefore, there are generally bags of salami, good deli pepperoni, ham and turkey breast in the freezer. She can just grab whatever she plans to make for my lunch, thaw overnight and there's never been a lack of freshness. We like to take advantage of the deli deal that Safeway often has on Fridays, where you can get a pound of their best meats and cheeses for $5 a lb. Another way we use these bags is to contain all the open packages of various size batteries that used to be rolling around in a big drawer. Now, each type has their own bag. When I need a couple AA batteries - boom, there they are. My wife sometimes freezes cookies in these bags, and will often utilize them for marinating meats or veggies to grill. She also keeps one for garden greens she washes and spins dry, then puts a paper towel in there. Keeps the greens crisp and fresh. She rinses those bags out and reuses, which is great. I've used plenty of plastic bags and I keep coming back to the slider style. The little zipper mechanism just makes them easier to use. With regular zip-top bags I'm always wondering if I got teh entire seal closed. With these it's quick, obvious and takes less effort. Just slide it across and you're done. I've used them for leftovers, chopped vegetables, and various odds and ends that needed to go in the freezer. They've held up well and I haven't had issues with leaks or bags popping open.
