The dial is on top so that it's easy to adjust, this is just one of the designs that make the EZ Cruize the perfect choice. It's small and lightweight so it doesn't take away from the look of your bike. It is available in 4 colors as well, so you match it to your style. Normally when riding you cannot do anything with your right hand except hold the throttle in position. When riding there is constant tension on the right hand and wrist, little adjustments are constantly happening when riding. Being able to use your right hand to make adjustments, relieve the tension or shake your hand out is a wonderful thing! The EZ Cruize is actually a Throttle Lock. An electronic cruise control will lock you into a speed set at MPH. It will speed up and slow down to keep you at that speed. What this does is that it "sets" the throttle in one position. Which is great on those long stretches. Understand that when you are going down hill, you will slow down a little and when going downhill you will speed up. When you first get your EZ Cruize it will take a little fiddling with it. Every bike is different, grips are different and Riders are different. This is a Universal item, and it works on every bike we've used so far. You need to play with it while sitting on your bike and get used to it before riding. It will take some adjusting to find your sweet spot. We find the rubber band works well and allows for quick disengaging of the EZ Cruize. Some people put them directly on their grips. Some have used inner tubes to supplement the band. It is ready to go right out of the package! After riding you can loosen the screw to relieve the tension. That works for some. Some leave it as it is all the time. Find what works best for you. "Man, I gotta stop for a minute, my hand is cramping up!" Of course, we never recommend taking your hands away from grips, but how nice would it be not to have constant pressure on it on those long straightaways with little traffic? Remember to push the throttle forward to disengage the EZ Cruiser. And if you have a cold-blooded beast like I do, you can give it a little twist to get some rpms going, set the EZ Cruize and let her warm up 1. Get the throttle to the speed you want. 2. Use your thumb or forefinger or even your left hand, (whatever is most comfortable and safest for you) ~ The Thumb seems to work best. Push the EZ Cruize forward until it rests against your brake handle. 3. That's it. Relax your hand. An EZ Cruize may not help you to find "the one". But you will be able to use your hand easily and well after a long ride.
