I never thought I'd be writing a glowing review for a product I bought on a whim, but I am thrilled with this product. There is absolutely nothing like this that I've ever experienced. First the packaging: The powder comes in a very sturdy plastic jar and it reseals tightly. It arrived in perfect condition. Second, the product: This heavy cream powder is a little dense and sticky but easy to measure out. In humid climates you should definitely store it in the container until you are ready to use it (don't leave it out as it will clump.) The powder blends in hot liquids almost immediately and in cooler liquids, it blends with a little additional stirring or blending. Where I found this heavy cream powder to be the absolute best was in my coffee and in baking. I have been drinking coffee with fresh heavy cream or half and half for years because I don't like the additional carbs in milk and I love the creamier taste. This powder is the perfect solution to those of us who love heavy cream but want a longer shelf life. Coffee creamers often taste artificial, but not this powder! It is all the creamy taste with none of the strange after-tastes. In baking, this powder is an absolute godsend. Add to mashed potatoes, cream based gravies and I used it in my chicken corn chowder and it absolutely added a layer of smooth taste that my family raved about. We used it as a sprinkle on a tart we made and it was fabulous all by itself. Using the directions on the container we were able to make a whipped cream that was fluffy and delicious. Make the heavy cream first (measurements on the package) and let sit in the refrigerator overnight. Then beat in sugar to make a whipped cream topping. Add sugar slowly to the mixture. We found that less sugar was actually better. Be sure you keep everything very cold, as it really helps maintain the texture. Lastly: I can't rave enough about this product. It's a great cost, tastes amazing, and is one of the most versatile food products around. I am so very glad I found it and hope to stock up on a few containers so we don't run out anytime soon. Take it camping, on a boat ... or really anyplace you want a cream taste without refrigeration.

My husband and I bought this for a camping trip because we like cream, real cream in our coffee, I had tried powdered milk, but I may as well be adding water to my coffee, and so we looked in to buying some powdered cream and this was the best deal that we could find. I really like that the ingredients are just freeze dried cream, nothing more. I was a little bit weary of the taste, I thought it might taste weird, being it is dried, so I gave it a few different test to see how it fared. I first tried it with instant coffee, and it had a weird taste to it, and I was not impressed with the flavor of the cream, it tasted like cooked cream essentially, and I was very underwhelmed. Then, I tried it with real coffee, fresh brewed, and I had quite a different experience, it taste just like normal cream, maybe not really fresh cream, but it was perfect. I had it 3 days in a row like that, and it was perfect every time. I went back home and tried it with instant coffee again just to see what it would be like, and the answer is that it was definitely the instant coffee, it was the same as the first time I tried it. If you use this with an instant coffee, use it with a high quality one, mine was not, and it effected the flavor of the cream. As others have stated, it works best for mixing if you initially mix it in a small amount of liquid(preferably hot) before incorporating with your whole batch of anything. You don't need to make a paste, but about 4 parts water to 1 part cream should be good for mixing initially. I will definitely be ordering this again for use while traveling with my coffee, I am very impressed with it, and I plan on trying some of this companies other stuff as well, I am excited to do so, I hope they are as good as this cream. The cost of liquid whole cream for my 1 giant cup of 'joe' in the morning was about to break my grocery budget.. Hoosier Farms Powdered Cream has saved the day in the sense that I can have it 'on the shelf' as long as I need it. Nothing is wasted in use. I can always have a rich, creamy cup of coffee without the chemicals found in other dry coffee creamers. BUT, I'm paying dearly for the 'safety' & 'convenience' of having it on hand .....I thought when I first figured costs that the 2 lb container would equal a certain number of whole cream cartons .... but, instead of 1 Tablespoon of Hoosier Farms Cream equaling 1 Tablespoon of whole liquid cream - NOT!! I need almost 2Xs the dry powder to = wet cream taste! I was so sad. However, it is still 100% better than any other dry, powdered creamer on the market. I've had to give & take a bit but, I am pretty happy with the powdered cream and find it's shelf convenience to be worth more money. That said I have only used it in my coffee. Don't bake much and I take comfort knowing it can be made into whipped cream IF I were ever to need it. Taste is good, convenience and safety make it my Doomsday creamer for sure. It has also made a great substitute for making my son's favorite drink ..... hot chocolate. It's ez to make up a big jar of cream, cocoa, erythritol for his go to comfort treat. Thank you, Hoosier Farms, for the big containers, too. I guess that any morning I ran out of store cream and had to buy a cup of morning coffee at the convenience store makes up for any extra I'm paying to have a delicious cream sitting on my shelf ready whenever I want a cup of creamy, rich coffee!

I love this stuff! I use it to enhance flavors in sauces and it helps thicken the sauces as well! This is one of my 'not so secret' secret ingredients.
