These are hearing amplifiers not hearing aids. I like that the whole thing fits in your ear without any tubes over your ear. It comes with different tips to make it fit securely in your ear canal. It had a small charge when I received it. It didn't take long for it to fully charge. And this came with the cord and the plug! You usually have to use a plug you already have. So good on them for including that! The volume can be controlled by a tiny switch on the ear piece. I found I had to take it out to do this. I could not do it while it was in my ear. I don't have extreme hearing loss. So I started on a very low volume. I wore it the whole day. It sounded like a fan was blowing all the time. But it really amplified the sound! It comes with a small case to charge and store it in. These really are nicer than most hearing amplifiers. And if you only have hearing loss in one ear, it comes as a single device. Other than the continuous background noise, I really liked it. I don't know if I would get used to the sound or not. I haven't worn it more than one day. We will see. ... show more

These were used by an individual that has moderate hearing loss due to prosthetic replacement of the bones in one of their ears at a young age. There were some complaints about background noises like wind and hums from machinery interfere with hearing . Sudden loud noises were not regulated in any way, so they had to pull the earpiece out a few times. However, overall the device has been excellent in aiding the person in conversations, listening to music, watching television. In more controlled environments and situations where the sounds are more normalized it has been extremely helpful. They have never used a hearing aid before, so they were hesitant to try this at first, but are so glad they did. ... show more

While it amplifies sound well, the quality is a bit lacking. High tone sounds are more amplified, causing discomfort, while lower pitched sounds are more muffled. Makes it difficult to set volume when having a group conversation. One person talks, it does fine, but the next person may be deeper voiced and then is muffled. ... show more

Works somewhat but it is not super high quality. It is basically an amplifier. It has a tendency to make a loud whistling feedback sound when putting it in or taking it out, but you can try turning it down to avoid this. The size of it is awkward and unsightly. This hearing amplifier was easy enough to use with quality sounds that I could hear from a distance. Looking to hear more distinctly, I found the ear piece to have quality sound and fit properly without discomfort. The package includes the amplifier, tools, a plug-in cord and direction. Before using the item, I started reviewing the instructions as I wanted to make sure I did this correctly. There are several important small knobs to be familiar with on the actual amplifier. You need to be aware of the power switch, the volume and the earplug size. What I found interesting is that it wasn't a left or right model, can fit into both ears. Additionally you can adjust the volume only when out of the ear as you need to use the screw driver provided to turn the knob. The device can be easily removed with your thumb and finger to pull it out without issue. Cleaning tools are also provided in case you have wax build up on the amplifier so you can brush it off. Overall, this amplifier is a solution to hearing noise further away. It's easy to use, can be charged and might be perfect if you are looking to hear sounds at a greater distance. ... show more

Product intended for aunt so I'm just the relay... I wanted to give my aunt a back up hearing aid and this came my way... As per my aunt... Nice fit. Not heavy. Great battery life. Works well inside the house but too noisy on the outside. Only complaint... Although you can raise and lower volume without a screwdriver or any other item that fits, it's hard to get the right level. All in all, she says that is good to have for the nice features and for the " Just in case " moments... ... show more

This hearing for seniors is quite good, it is simple to use and the volume on and off switch are located on the device itself. What I like about the volume control is you turn the switch with a small screw driver (provided) this way you can adjust it slowly to your preference. The on and off switch you just push to on or off. I think the sound adjustment is better this way and the sound Quilty is great and clear. ... show more

Only 1 hearing aid, but if you have diminished hearing in 1 ear, this is perfect. It seems to be well built and works good. For $32.99 is a real good price. For one ear it works good, If you need two, buy another one. For what it does and it's price I give it 5 stars and I highly recommend it.
