I bought eight of these to connect several Mac Mini's to VGA capable monitor via a KVM switch. I got everything hooked up, but lo and behold, the monitors didn't work... they were reporting no signal. I tried connecting the Macs directly to the monitor via an HDMI cable and it worked, so the Mac was outputting a signal. I thought maybe the KVM switch was the issue, so I connected the Mac to the VGA port on the monitor via the adapter, but again, no signal. I next thought the VGA cable might be the issue, so I tried another, and still no luck. Finally, I tried a different monitor, thinking maybe the VGA port on the monitor was bad, but no luck with the new monitor. My final conclusion is that none of the 8 adapters I purchased work. The specs say they are unidirectional (HDMI to VGA), but that is the mode in which I am trying to use them... HDMI from the computer to VGA on the monitor. If I hadn't waited so long to test these, I'd return them in a heartbeat. Update: I have changed my rating to 5 stars because Moread has gone out of their way to correct the issue. They sent me a sample of a different adapter, which worked as I thought the original adapters should, so then they replaced all 8 of the adapters with the model that worked. I was very surprised, but have to commend Moread on their customer service. Thank you for making this right! ... show more
