Description
The unusual colour vase was designed by the design studio Scholten & Bajings for the renowned Danish manufacturer HAY. The duo from a student designer and a talented autodaktin has been operating a joint studio in Amsterdam since 2000. This is mainly based on the coexistence of organic and imaginative forms. The hand-embossed designs of the two move at the fine limit between minimalism and opulence, which does not follow any self-purpose, but from the natural conditions such as light, shade or pattern. The elegant colour vase also follows the concept of artisan tradition, which is put into a new context through the processing. The 19cm tall and 13.5cm diameter glass jar features a classic round vase shape. However, this is given a unique look by a pattern characterised by a geometric grid and on the other hand by blurred, flowing lines.
