I’ve been playing flute for 32 years and needed one to travel with since I don’t like taking something worth the price of a car with me on an airplane. This was on sale and I figured I’d give it a shot. It’s definitely better than I expected. A little airy and the tone is just not as warm as it could be. But it does the trick as a standby. Mine came in good condition and I didn’t need to have it serviced but be aware that if I had, the service charge could have eclipsed the value of the flute. All in all, for a beginner or someone who wants to experiment with open holes before committing, it’s not a bad option. Just be aware that a budget flute will always sound like a budget flute compared to the same person playing a nicer one. ... show more
