  • Hidden costs...what you need to know
Color: White
This a cool piece of baby gear with a well-designed companion app. It looks nice and performs as advertised. That said, having a baby scale in my home seriously affected my mental health in the first six weeks of my baby’s life. I obsessed over the number on that scale to the point where I had given up on breastfeeding. If you are considering buying this item — or any baby scale, really — just give yourself pause. Why do you need a scale? It’s not going to make you a better mom, and it’s not going to help your baby’s health. Chances are, it’s just going to stress you out. I don’t recommend it. ... show more

  • VERY INACCURATE! I returned it!
Color: Grey
I could not have been more disappointed in this scale! I wanted to love it and felt it was worth the expense IF it did what it promised, but when I discovered how INACCURATE it was, I returned it. On three occasions we weighed our newborn son on this scale, then went right to the pediatrician's office where he was weighed, in the same diaper. This scale was off every time by 6-7 ounces. Also, doing the feed and weigh, it told me my son only fed 0.75 oz, so I supplemented more breastmilk with a bottle. Then he threw up what I had just bottle fed him, so I weighed him again and it said he had gained 3.5 oz.. I can weigh my son five times in a row and get varying weights by more than 3 ounces. If your baby has the correct amount of wet/solid diapers, then you don't need to be crazy weighing them daily or at every feeding. Our son dropped more than 12% in weight after birth because breastfeeding wasn't working out immediately and this scale still didn't help accurately weigh him. We had to use common sense to see he was getting dehydrated and needed emergency supplementation, despite what this scale said. Having such an inaccurate scale made us worry more than we should and I feel it is not safe to rely upon in the care of a newborn for any valid measurement. ... show more

  • Designed to Break Itself and Your Wallet!!!
Color: Grey
Worst scale and a total rip-off! The scale broke after a year and a half and since the warranty is only a year they wouldn’t do anything for me except give me 20% off. The “loading cells” are so delicate , evidently moving it to clean can break them. Why advertise it as a changing station when it Is obviously going to take some kind of movement and “downward pressure”. It claimes to have a weight limit of 44 pds. Well I guess don’t put a heavy baby on it or let the baby kick. According to their email to me “Grow is damaged when more than 44lbs of pressure has been applied to the scale which breaks the weighing mechanism.” It claims to be accurate to .25 oz but I rarely got repeatable result and often had to take multiple measurements to even get an idea . It is known that this scale is one of the most inaccurate. This company exploits new parents who want to measure newborn feedings. I completely regret this purchase. If I had had more time and energy to do more research after my baby was born, I would have seen that they are not only one of the most innacurate but have the worst warranty for scales. I am assuming they want parents to repeatedly buy this after it breaks after warranty expires , or expect them to throw it away after a year if they have only one child . There are many scales that are much better. This thing for me now is nothing more than a overpriced changing pad. My advice is to either get the Health-o-meter grow with me which has a 10 YEAR WARRANTY or Hopkins Featherweight Baby Scale which has a 3 year warranty and graduations of .16 oz and is only 40 dollars more than the stupid Hatch grow. Or just take the time to do more research. I’ve heard you can rent professional grade scales and even for around 300 you can buy a professional grade scale. The Hatch grow is not durable and won’t last through multiple children . It didn’t even last through one child for me. No Hatch. I’m not going to use your 20% off to buy your product again. I’m not stupid enough to spend another 100 dollars to replace it when it is obviously just going to break again. ... show more

Color: Grey
Very expensive, glitchy, and overall I dont think very accurate. If the baby is wiggly at all it won’t detect weight, and i had to close and restart the app constantly as it would give me a message that it couldn’t find the unit. Also very uncomfortable for baby.

  • ... my son a few months ago and am SO happy I did
Color: Grey
I bought this right before I had my son a few months ago and am SO happy I did, even though it was a bit more expensive than a normal changing pad: -looove that I can just wipe it off when things get messy. I have enough laundry to clean lol so it's nice not to have to also wash a changing pad cover -he's an eating champ now but it was really reassuring the first month when i had no idea what I was doing and I could see how much he was eating when breastfeeding -It's wonderful not to have to pack him up to head to the doc's office if I want to see how much he weighs. I like that I can see all of his weight charted out in the app graph -the color works perfectly in my baby boy's room but neutral enough if we ever had a girl! :) Highly recommend to any new parents out there. The first month can be so overwhelming and having this really gave me the confidence that my baby was eating and gaining enough! One less thing to worry about... ... show more

  • Weight wrong
Color: Grey
I bought this scale on January 10 ( 3 weeks ago) to do weighed feeds for my little one who needed to gain weight. Well yesterday it says she weighed 12 pounds and today it said 7. UGH clearly wrong. I tried zeroing it out closing and opening the app and it still listed an incorrect weight for my daughter. Literally the entire point of this thing is to get An accurate measurement of how much she is eating/her weight- if this is inaccurate then it is just an expensive uncomfortable changing mat. ... show more
