Description

In The Game of Life: Super Mario Edition board game, players choose to play as Mario, Luigi, Peach, or Yoshi, journeying through the Mushroom Kingdom, and finally spinning to win in a battle against Bowser! They move around the looping paths of the gameboard as they collect coins, power up with items and Companions, and play fun minigames along the way such as Rock Paper Scissors, Thumb Wars, and Spin-Offs. As they approach Bowser's Castle, players will also buy stars to boost their battle-spin; each star collected adds 1 point to their spin total, and players will need to spin higher than a 12 to defeat Bowser and win the game.     • Pleasantly surprised by how fun this is!
For the record, this is nothing like the original Game of Life (fortunately in my opinion!). Certain characteristics make it similar (like the way the board is laid out, how you put the stars on your player (instead of babies) and the spinner), but the game is a more straightforward board game that kids of all ages (mine are 4 and 8 and equally enjoy this game) can understand and play easily. My 4 year old especially is a huge Mario Brothers fan, so he really enjoyed all aspects of this game and the "mini-games" within the game (highest spin defeats a bad guy, etc.) It is really cute how they incorporated so many Mario-related elements which kept both of my kids engaged. It is a simple play once you get the hang of it and since you do not "need" to collect a stay of every color (doing so increases your likelihood of defeating Bowser in the end only), then the play-time can be shorter if needed. Either way, my kids always want to collect all the stars because that is half the fun! ... show more

Been trying to get my kids into more board games and figured this would be perfect. My son absolutely LOVES it. It puts a fun twist on a classic game. I wanted to get my son this game from target, but the next day they SOLD OUT. I looked for it on google and this amazon seller came up. I saw that it was on sale and in stock! When it arrived it was easy to put together and easy to teach my 5 year old to play! This is going to be a fun favorite!

This is a really fun game with vibrant colors. The figures are made very well and of good quality and detail. This is a game my 4 year old can play easily even though he can't yet read. Our entire family enjoys it. The different actions and little mini games you play are always fun and things my four year old can do.
