So, I had recently heard that Harry's had developed their second generation razor. I was not a user of their first. It just did not win me over based on my research and reviews. Well, when I heard the second generation was out with a weighted handle and new engineering of the blades - I said, what the heck. So I received them back in late May 2026 and from the first shave I was like WOW!!!. The wife also noticed how close the save was and how smooth it left my face. Up until May of 2026, I had been using the G-word razor with their 5 blade super-duper wamie design. Quite frankly, over the years I stopped looking for a better shave thinking this was it. But I was SO WRONG !! The Harry's razor is well weighted with a narrower head than the G-word. But I think its this narrow head along with the redesign of their special German made blades and especially the spacing of the blades that the razor just glides on my face. I have a typical facial hair with the sensitive skin after I shave. After using Harry's 2nd generation razor, I haven't had to use my balm for my face anymore. I do not get the cuts or nicks or missing hairs that my wife used to point out to me. In fact, there were several hairs that just below my nose I was always afraid to shave since the G-word razor would always nick me there and it HURT!. The other hairs were around the corners of my mouth but turned side ways into my mouth and shaving them was always a challenge. I would just use the wife's tweezers to pluck them out ever couple of weeks of growth - that's the only time I could see them actually as their were white and small for some reason. Not like the rest of my facial hair. Well, there you have it folks - men as well as women alike. I love this new razor and I purchased some more replacement blades recently. A significant upgrade. I have used Harry's for years because the shave was good, the blades lasted and it wasn't stupidly expensive. No complaints. But I decided to try this Plus model and it is in fact better. Smoother, closer shave. The trim edge is placed differently so you have to position it differently. I'm sold. ... show more

I had been using the original blades from Harry's and they were very good. I tried this new blade and they are Great. Nice new handle and smooth clean shave. They cost a little more but the blade lasts longer than the old one. Very Pleased!!!

I really am a fan of Harry's Razor and blades and have been using them for years. I debated whether I should go for the new Plus razor. Here are my thoughts - the new PLUS is definitely heavier and therefore takes a little bit of time to get used to. The blades are fairly similar, although I do like the trimming feature on the PLUS. I would say that if you are happy with the original, there's no real need to upgrade to the PLUS, but if you want a heavier, feeling razor or you want the trimmer feature, the Plus is the way to go. Do note that the Plus blades will cost a bit more but still I think that Harry's razors are a great bargain compared to other others and give a superior shave. Highly recommended.. ... show more

I have pros and cons. Con; I find it works like every other razor of its type. Hoping for something special but there wasn't. Pro: I do, very much like the design and weight of the shaver. It's easy to use and limited force is needed on those special spots and bumps. So, I'm mixing but I am liking it better than my trust Mach 3. ... show more

I have always used Harry's razors and I love them. They last a long time. The blades are extremely sharp and smooth. I switched over to Harry's plus and found the shave to be the same except the new movement of the blade makes it easier to go around the curves on the face

    • Good razor but needs improvement!

Update: It's still a good razor, but if I let my facial hair grow for a few days, the thicker whiskers tend to clog the blades. At that point, I have to bang the razor against the sink to clear it—and not gently, either. It takes a pretty hard whack to get the hair out.!
