  • Laminitic horse approved!
Day 1 Review 1/17/19 Well, it's been 5 days since the diagnosis of acute laminitis and I finally got the boots even though I paid for expedited shipping. Even counting the weekend in there, that's slow. They should really put these boots on Prime because nobody WANTS to buy this product. They NEED to buy this product and they need it NOW! Anyway... So I get the boots. They are well packed in pretty packaging. There is an instructional brochure that comes with them. Even without the brochure, they are easy to figure out. I did watch the video on their website about the boots before I bought them and that showed how to put them on. Then I put them on. After I got the first boot on, my horse shifted his weight to the boot and started licking his lips. He then cocked a back hoof!! Now keep in mind this is a horse with acute laminitis! He had been trying to put all of his weight on his hind legs for days at this point so to see him cock a back leg was instant satisfaction for me! I got the other boot on and evaluated the fit. They fit well around his hoof-not a lot of wiggle room. I did not size up-I went by the size chart. They do gap at the top though. Maybe it's because they are new or maybe it's just because of the strong type of material they are made from. I worried that he would get shavings down inside them so I stuffed paper towels in to fill the gaps. I think that should do the trick. Maybe I'll make little bell boot type things out of fabric to go over the top of the EasyBoot to keep the shavings out. I'll see how the paper towels hold up. So far, so good. He was a little hesitant to take a step in them but he shouldn't be walking around too much anyway. Not sure I'll turn him out in them but he's too lame right now. I have owned horses for decades and I still have the original EasyBoot with the wires and metal closure. Things sure have come a long way! The velcro on these was really easy to use and seemed pretty secure. I don't think he'll be able to get these boots off. I'm happy with my purchase. I was going to buy another brand but they couldn't be here for another two days. I think I would have been happy with that brand too. My horse just needed some kind of relief and he found it with these boots. I can definitely see that these boots would be versatile for treating abscesses and other hoof problems. The integrated air holes in the hoof portion are a huge improvement over my other treatment boots that are all a rubber/plastic material. The only downside is that you would need to purchase a pair and they are pricey. But they do seem sturdy so hopefully they will last a while. I have already purchased replacement inserts because I'm not sure how long they will last. I'll provide updates. Stay tuned and wish poor Snickers the best! ... show more

  • Great boots
My Vet recommended these boots for my horse with thin soles and hoof wall. He needs to be out of his shoes for about 7 weeks but can’t go barefoot. These boots have been great! He keeps them on 24-7 and is turned out on the field with them. I ended up buying 2 sets of boots so that I could switch them out every week to allow for dry time. So far the boots are still in great shape after 7 weeks of constant wear. Shadow loves his boots and obviously finds them very comfortable since I see him running and trotting around. ... show more

  • Best Boots
I recently have had to deal with founder in one of my horses. My farrier recommended the Cloud Boots. When I first checked them out I thought $92.00 bucks for a set was way too much...then I looked closer and saw that was only one boot! YIKES.. I hit the floor. I pulled myself together and bought the boots. I am so happy I did they are amazing. Easy to put on which is a huge plus, since my guy fights lifting his legs for me. They are durable and fit great. I was a bit concerned about the fit. When I measured his hooves one size fit the length and not the width the other size was the opposite. I called the company for help in deciding. They said to go with the shoe that fits the width and if they are a little long in the length put a sock on to take up the extra. The shoes ended up fitting very perfect. I highly recommend buying this boot don't waste money on the cheaper ones only then to have to buy theses later. ... show more

  • Love it
Easy to put on and treat my mares hooves. Shes got a 9% rotation along with white line disease and hoof separation. With these makes cleaning her hooves easier and shes able to go outside with her pasturemares. Love these.

  • Works, and works well!
My horse injured his hoof and we needed a boot to protect it while healing before we could put his shoe back on. I have always been skeptical of the efficacy of this kind of thing (he's gotten out of all others I've tried on him), but felt I had no other option. Luckily, this product was available for next day delivery. When I got it, I was shocked by the quality, fit, and function. Not only does it stay on, but it seems very comfortable for my horse, and fits like a glove without being difficult to put on or remove. Highly recommend! Worth the price. ... show more

  • Helped tremendously
Very easy to put on and take off. Helped horse to be more comfortable after bout with lamanitus. The Velcro tab on one boot ripped the first 24 hours. Improvised by using duct tape to keep closed and secure which I did on both boots. Have worn out after three months but i will order again. Will use duct tape again to protect the tabs and keep them closed. ... show more

  • Started to fall apart within 2 weeks
I reluctantly spent the outrageous amount for these boots for the well being of my horse. I chose this boot because they were supposed to breathe and I liked the toe design for my laminitic horse. Immediately I was disappointed in the fastening system and the large gap left due to the design, allowing bedding to regularly get inside the boot and rub on my horses leg and hoof. Within 2 weeks the cheap hook and loop PLASTIC tore at each stitch requiring me to hand sew the entire piece back on only to tear again within a week. The second sewing was done with dental floss and seemed to hold the cheap plastic better. Within a month the inside fabric was bunching and rolling again due to the design, cheap fabric and the fact that the boot does Not breathe. All of this is with daily removal, cleaning and airing out to prevent further issues with the hoof. I hope that they last long enough to get my horse through her recovery and when I can afford to buy a better made boot. It appears that manufacturer has no concern for customer after they get your money by not following through on warranty. ... show more
