We bought this for my 1-year-old nephew for his birthday. It is much shorter than other animal rockers and that is one of the things I love about it. I think it would be great for kids ages 1 through 2 1/2. The dragon rocker also does not have as wide of a rocking range as others. If you want something that will last a little longer (up to 3 or 4) then I would buy one of the standard rockers like the fox pictured. I got this for my 18 month old. It is so adorable. I was worried about it ripping like other comments said but it's been a month and still is going strong. He uses it almost every day. It is low to ground , which is why I bought it. It's perfect for his size right now. My 5 yo sits on it too, obviously to small for him but it's tested the durability. The screws are not centered to where you put the rocking part making it very hard to assemble. Otherwise its very good

One of the long screws was bent making it impossible to get all the screws all the way into the wood blocks. They stuck out a bit but it was too late to return and try again. Overall this is adorable and perfect for a 1 year old gift but would have liked a non defective product when gifting.
