Chocolate coins were white. They tasted terrible. One child who ate three before we noticed vomited from it. These chocolates had to be years and years past due date.

Well, packaging and shipping handling could have been better. Opened the item to find the contents dumped within and banged up box. A dented box, ok, but not sealed or a sticker to hold the top closed? Appears to be all there and at least they're not melted. Opened one coin: looks ok-ish and tastes good, as it should. My box came with 121 pieces of gelt. The taste is fine, just regular cheap milk chocolate. The gold wrapping looks perfect on all the coins. I didn't realize gelt was so expensive (this is my first Hanukkah providing the gelt!) but this was a pretty good deal. The price came out to about 17¢/coin. Can't wait to play dreidel! ... show more

Bought these for our grade level last year and needed 100. I got 100. However, this year we only got 79. Unfortunately, that is not enough for our grade level. Bummed! 🙁

My box was delivered on a 34-degree afternoon, so while the box itself was a bit smashed, the coins overall seemed in pretty good shape and I suspect the temperature contributed. I received 53 large coins and 52 small coins, only one of which had lost foil (only one side). The box does indeed say made in a nut-free facility, which was most important to me as I have a child with peanut and treenut allergies. It appears that the manufacturer is actually a wholesaler who rebrands boxes for distributors, as mine was listed as "Gerrit's" and "Made for Gerrit J. Verburg Co." instead of "The Dreidel Company" though the expiry and lot number were the same as listed in the Amazon listing picture (20/06/2021). The chocolate tasted fresh, had a nice rich flavor and good mouthfeel. Many people have stated that they seem overpriced. At first I also balked at the price tag, but I considered that most grocery gelt is $1-$2 for 4 pieces. Since Halloween candy tends to range from $0.13-$0.37 per piece, I'm feeling pretty good about the $0.17-per-piece price tag, especially when I factor in the time I otherwise would have spent hunting local grocery stores for enough gelt for our Hanukkah party. ... show more
