These run extremely small compared to the regular cotton xl. The material does not have the same stretch and the waistband is much smaller when I compare the xl of these to the xl of the cotton version I purchased the same day. We did keep them because I have two sons so the one that these did not fit can wear the smaller size. I hope Hanes can make more consistent fit in the future. Overall the material is nice and seems very lightweight and breathable. These are nice boys underwear. Price was good for the large pack. The waistband is a little bit stiff and the black fabric is a mesh style that my son described as scratchy.
