We picked this up to let our son have it on a long car ride we had to take, and it served its purpose. He was pretty happy and entertained by it for a few hours off and on, though he did seem to get bored. We did walk him through how to use it as it may not be immediately clear how to access most of the games. When you turn on the device you'll see a list of some game, maybe the "best ones? I'm not quite sure how that is decided. From there, you can directly launch those games, or you can access the Main Menu, and from there you'll be greeted by some categories, and once you select a category you'll see a list of games that you can play. The games are very simple, but they can be fun for a kid to pass the time. Our son (Age 8) really loves having his own system though, even if it isn't a full on gaming system like a Nintendo Switch. We're also happy to see that he is taking care of it too. I comes with a rechargable battery pre-installed, but you can remove it and power the device with 3 AAA batteries if you'd like. Everything you need is included in the box, though you might want to open it up and charge it to make sure its ready for use. The buttons on it are fine, but nothing special. Overall it makes for a nice little gift, and you shouldn't have to worry about a kid getting sucked in to spending hours at a time with it because the games or basic, and don't really have the ability to save or progress on them. One odd feature is there is a compass on the back, and it actually works pretty well. Our son also liked updating us on which way was north, which was fun.

Got this for my 7-year-old and it’s been a hit! The screen is surprisingly clear and bright, and the built-in games are fun and easy to play. A lot of simple, classic-style games that are perfect for younger kids—no internet, no ads, just play and go. The size is great for small hands, and the battery lasts a good while. Perfect for road trips or keeping kids entertained without needing a phone or tablet. Plus, the colors are super cute!

I got this for my kids as we were about to go on a road trip and their iPads only work with Wi-Fi. For the most part, they enjoyed playing this. They said that there were a lot of games that they liked on it. It was really nice to take with us on the road trip as it kept them happier and occupied while traveling. The size is perfect for kids, my kids are 9 and 13 and neither one of them had any issues with it being too big to hold. The only complaints that we have is that it could use a better battery - the listing says that it gives 6 hours of play time on a fully charged battery - we found that it was only about 4 hours. They also complained that the screen was ‘too old school’ - they said it was really pixelated. Overall it served its purpose and they were happier on the road trip.

I originally ordered this handheld system for my spouse, who has early onset dementia and has always loved classic games like Pac-Man and Asteroids. I hoped it would give them both enjoyment and some brain exercise, but the device turned out to be a bit cumbersome in their larger hands. Luckily, it didn’t go to waste—our 15-year-old quickly claimed it and now keeps it in the car for long trips, especially when their phone dies. Setup was simple, and the games run smoothly with no lag, which makes it easy for them to jump in and play. Battery life lasts at least an hour per charge, which is decent for the price, and the built-in library of games definitely has that fun retro vibe. While my teen enjoys it, they admit they’d grab a Switch first if given the choice—this little console is better suited for younger kids or pre-teens who don’t need the latest graphics to be entertained. For what it is, it’s a simple, affordable, and fun way to introduce kids to old-school games.
