I had high hopes for this dress that in the end just didn’t work out. At XL it’s too small. Some (a lot) of this is on me. I normally wear an XL and in my other XLs the waistline is listed at 35-36”. This dress put it at 33”, and I “optimistically” though that because the material is stretchy and because I’m an XL everywhere else (Note: “X-Large will fit you best based on data from customers who buy the same sizes as you.” Right.), it would accommodate. It closes. I need a handmaiden to help, but I can fit into it, and it’s clearly not the right size for me. The fault is obviously mine as the measurements in unambiguous units are provided, I just wish the label was consistent with others in its class. I can’t fault the dressmaker for disclosing facts I didn’t heed, but it does limit my capacity to fairly review it. Positive, the slit isn’t simply cut into the hem. The slit for the leg is an overlap between two flaps, so it opens and closes as you walk and is more natural without a fixed terminus where the seam closes. Positive, it’s a bright blue color and the texture of the fabric (I failed to capture) doesn’t look or feel cheap. Positive, the dress is forgiving with some stretch. That’s not a positive necessarily for me as it’s quite UNflattering and the tightness shows everything I don’t want on display. I suspect a proper size would have been an attractive gown. Negative, a pleat on the right put in to match the pseudo-pleat from the slit. The dress would look unbalanced with the flap coming up on the left only, so it is necessary to put something in for symmetry. It’s not working. It’s puckered out and is simply ugly. This is amplified by the fact the dress is ill-fitting, but something about it wasn’t sitting right even before I put it on. It didn’t stay pleated very far down the right side of the dress. I wish I had good pics of this dress to post (received right before it was needed and current pics are all group shots sent through text), because it looked beautiful on my daughter and she was very happy with it. It looks exactly like the pics, and although it has a good sized slit in the front, my daughter said it didn't reveal too much, but she was conscious about it being there to help with no revealing. It fit to size and once we cleaned/steamed it, it looked like she spent more on it than the $40. It shows shoulders nicely, but wasn't too constricting or tight around the neck. She went to dinner at 5 pm and then danced in this all night, until midnight, with no problems. What's nice about this classic look is she can wear it over and over, and this dress can be worn for a formal or a more simple event or night out - it's very versatile.

High Neck Formal Dress Women Split Evening Gowns Bridesmaid Long Dress Wedding Guest Dresses I sized up in this dress with the hope that my daughter would fall in love with it for her prom (she has yet to find a dress and I loath clothes shopping with the fire of a thousand suns). I'm usually a small and she leans more towards a med/large. I actually love the way it looks on me and she's thinking about it because it fits her, albeit a little snug (but in a good way). We are both vertically challenged so I think I need to take it up an inch or two regardless who ends up wearing it but the material is beautiful and light and it looks formal enough for a prom. The slit is really high up but she said she plans on wearing black boy shorts and Converse with it if she decides to wear it that night which will look adorable and she won't have to worry about the slit. She likes how comfortable it is and she won't have fun if she's constantly pulling at it or self-conscious so 2 thumbs up from me.

I ordered the black dress. I got a green one and returned it. I ordered the black dress a second time. Again..... I got a green one. The dress itself looks great on and I loved it, but it's really disappointing that they sent me the wrong color twice. Make sure you have plenty of time to go through the return process a time or two when ordering from this seller.

Ordered this for an upcoming trip to Europe. We have several upscale dinner plans, and I wanted something beautiful and classic to wear. This dress fits perfectly, I love the deep green, and the slit is a fun, but tasteful, pop of leg. I'm 5' 11.5" and typically wear a small/medium. I ordered the medium which fits well overall. There's slight gapping around the armpits, but nothing that takes away from the dress or that can't be fixed with skin-friendly fabric tape or skin-safe adhesive. The length falls between a midi and a maxi, but looks intentional, instead of awkward. I'm all-leg, and the dress hits as pictured. Not floor length, but well below the knee. The high-slit is great for leggy babes and the cut is elegant and classic. Of all the clothing I've ordered for this trip - this is by far my favorite purchase. Great for wedding guests, fine dining, or a fancy night out :)

The dress wasn't a maxi on me and it would have looked better with some length. The quality of the material is excellent and the feel is great. It looks and feels like high-quality material. It looks elegant and is great for prom or evening dinner outside. The blue color really looks beautiful and pops out as well.

I absolutely love this dress. It is thick and looks great on! The only downside was the zipper. It was really stiff and I had a hard time zipping it down. When it was on I had to ask for help because I couldn't unzip it by myself. I am short 5'1 and the dress is on the floor which I expected but I wasn't tripping over it or anything. So if you are probably 5'5 and higher it will look more as pictured, but if you are short it's long but not overwhelmingly so. The slit is also classy. Overall gorgeous dress.
