    • Misleading Listing Photos – Hood and Drape Don’t Match What’s Pictured

I ordered this red sheer hooded cape for a costume, but unfortunately it does not match the appearance shown in the listing photos. The biggest disappointment is the hood. In the photos, the hood looks large, rounded, and substantial with plenty of fabric for a dramatic effect. The actual hood is very small, narrow, and pointed, with the tip sticking straight up. It barely covers my head and simply doesn’t have enough material to create the look shown in the listing, no matter how I tried to arrange it. The cape itself is also much less full than expected. The listing makes it appear as though there is a generous amount of fabric creating a beautiful drape, but the actual cape is made from a single sheer layer with relatively little fullness. Because of that, it doesn’t flow or gather the way it appears in the photos. Length was another issue for me. The cape falls several inches shorter than the floor, whereas the listing images suggest a dramatic floor-length effect. I am 5’8”, so it may reach the floor on someone shorter, but taller buyers should be aware that it may not have the same look as pictured. The neck tie is also different than shown. The listing displays a wide, decorative ribbon tie, while the cape I received has a much thinner tie that doesn’t create the same finished appearance. Overall, I feel this cape is significantly misrepresented in the product photos and is not the same quality or design shown in the listing. That said, if you’re simply looking for an inexpensive sheer red cape and don’t plan to use the hood much, it may still serve its purpose. For me, however, the inaccurate photos and disappointing hood design were deal breakers. ... show more

This is basically a super lightweight and see-through big piece of netting. It's very thin - I had a fingernail that was a little rough an it kept catching on this material. It's shapeless and made to drape over your shoulders. There is a built in hood that's small, and you tie it at the neck to keep it on. However, as you can see in the photos the tie at the neck is in an awkward spot and does not lay or look right. The hood is not voluminous as shown in the item description - it's just a small pointy hood that doesn't keep its shape. Size wise it is made for an adult and just hits the floor for me (I'm 5"5"). I think the execution is poor and this is not an attractive cape - not a good value at all. ... show more
