For the cost you can't beat it. Yes the hood his tight, but pick up the outfit from the shoulders to get the head out when they get tired of it (as they always do). The scythe needs to be put together in the right order so it stays together, snaps tight. The chain doesn't stay as pictured, but these boys have no hips to hold it. We crossed it over his shoulder, problem solved. I think this is a great costume especially for the money. Is it perfect? -Probably not -but 29.99 (regular price) sure is easier to spend than what most of the other halloween costumes cost. ... show more

My 6 year old wanted this for Halloween. We did a a Halloween trick or treating event camping. It was a disaster. First the glowing eyes didn’t work. My husband had to rewire them. They were hard to put on and keep on under the hood of costume. My son complained the whole time of not being able to breath or see. He lasted about 20 mins before just wearing his normal clothes. My son can’t see out of the hood at all. He was really struggling at an indoor well lit trick or treat event. The flaps on the head hang over his eyes and made it nearly impossible to see. It’s a fun idea but the functionality isn’t there. I am going to try to alter it so he can actually see. It fit him well everywhere except the head, the head was kind of snug.
