My daughter loved this costume so I will give it 4 stars. However, the top of the hat has absolutely no structure - it just flops over. We made a cone out of black construction paper and taped it to the inside of the hat, which did the trick as a temporary fix. It's ok though! We bought a small for our 3 year old daughter and I had to hem up the costume by 4 inches at the bottom. She is tall for her age and wearing a 4T to 5T, so I thought the small would fit her. It does, but is incredibly long. The sleeves at the shoulder are very tight as well. The hat has a tendency to not point up as it is made out of the fine mesh/lace that the sleeves are made out of. The main part of the dress is a velvet-like material with an orange polyester/satin inlay with the lace/mesh over the top of the inlay. The sleeves are the same polyester/satin with the lace/mesh over the top of that and hangs down a long way. To keep the hat on, I HIGHLY suggest getting some matching ribbon and sewing it to the edges to tie under your child's chin. That was the only way we could keep it on my daughter's head. Overall, it is a very nice costume, but the sizes are on the larger end. It looks like the Small fits more a 5T to 6T child, so be aware of that when ordering. I bought the medium costume for my six year old who is 4'3" and of medium build. She wore it two times before Halloween and again on Halloween and it held up beautifully. The sleeves have pretty sparkly detail (I believe they are stars) and my daughter was disappointed this wouldn't show because she had to wear a jacket for trick-or-treating here in Minnesota. The sparkles are repeated on the hat. She wore this with a black long-sleeved shirt underneath and that helped make the sparkly sleeves "pop". The hat is great, too, because it's more of a tulle material and doesn't "catch the wind" like some larger wider-brimmed witch hats can do. This made it easier to keep the hat on while racing from house to house. I recommend removing the costume from the package and airing it out a bit before wear - it does have a slight smell but it dissipates quickly if you hang it outside for a few hours. My 4 year old adores this dress and it's holding up amazingly well - Halloween, a renaissance faire trip and hours of crawling on the floor and making potions and there's no noticeable wear and tear. We made a slight modification to the collar because she complained of it being itchy. The hat has a hard time staying on and is slightly small for her head. Fit of the dress is true to its size. Durable so far. Hat is extremely flimsy, made of a see-through, netting type of material that neither hold its shape and is too small. The shape of the brim of the hat is only maintained by a very tiny wire that is easily bent and difficult to adequately reshape. Not sure if I would purchase this again. ... show more

The dress is beautiful, fit was a bit bigger than expected. We ended up cutting a few inches off of the bottom. It does not come with a broom. The hat is small and did not stay on. I cut small holes in the mesh and used hair clips in order to keep it in place.

I wasn't sure which size to get for my 8yr old. She wears mostly size 10. I ordered a large and it fit exactly to her height. I measured the length of the dress for people that might want to order this but aren't sure about the size. A "Large" size is about 46 inches in length. It is a nice fabric. The black part feels like velvet. It looks exactly like the picture. The hat doesn't stay straight so I plan on lining it with black tulle-the stiff kind. My daughter loves it. She so badly wanted an orange-colored witch costume to be like Marney from the movie "Halloweentown". This gets a 5-star rating since she picked this costume based on the picture and it came out as good as we hoped. Good price, fast shipping. Not more I could ask for. ... show more

This was the costume my daughter picked from a few that I showed her. I was happy with the price but skeptical of the quality when ordering. I’m happy to say it’s better than I expected. We ordered a medium for my average/tall, skinny 7 year old. The length is perfect, it falls just above the floor. It has quite a bit of room in the top but she’s also pretty skinny. I plan to take it in or have her wear an undershirt for modestly. I love that I bought this costume and a broom to go with it for less than most costumes cost. ... show more
