I found Debbie Shore on YouTube. I’ve watched many of her videos and made several bags using her tutorials. When I learned she had books out, I knew I’d want one because of her style. She explains things very well, doesn’t rush through things and is a joy to listen to with a lovely British accent. I knew her books would be a great addition to her videos and I was right. This book goes into a lot of detail, has beautiful color photos and gives you two options for each bag. I don’t remember the count but I’d say you could make around 20 or so bags from this book alone. There are great tips and ideas to help you customize your bag as well. The ideas in this book are really cute. There is a lot of variety in the patterns, and instructions on how to do extra things like envelope zippered pockets. The pictures are fantastic and so helpful. There are probably other ways of creating these bags that might be used if a person is a more advanced sewer, but these instructions are perfect for beginners. ... show more

This is such a fun book! It is a beautiful book to flip through filled with fun projects to sew. The directions are very clear and include photos. I’ve made 5 of the “Miss Messenger” bag now and I just love it. Great buy. Debbie Shore does not dissapoint.

Love this book! Have made two versions of the messenger bag pattern so far using fabric scraps from other projects. Very easy to follow, has turned out great. Nice way to use interesting, small amount of fabric.

The Kindle version of the book opens 2 pages at a time which means the printing is so small that the screen needs to be enlarged to read. Once the screen is enlarged it needs moved around to read then returned to original size again to turn to the next 2 pages. I found it distracting and a pain in the rump and most likely won't use the book. The sample made it look very interesting though and I wanted to try the wallet in one of the descriptions. ... show more

I wish this were in spiral binding, but I can remedy that issue myself. Other than that this has been a great brush-up on long-forgotten sewing and patterns as well!! I haven’t gotten to get very far into this as we’ve been a bit busy. I do have a severe traumatic brain injury so relearning things constantly. And this book is one of my favorites already!! ... show more
