These are exactly as described. 100% blackout and block out the grueling east sun from our bedroom. You'll want to install the rod 3 inches above the window so that light does not come through the grommet holes. In the middle of the day when we stand at the bedroom door, it's so dark, we can't see the bed. They also make a huge difference in the temperature of our bedroom. I ordered the dark teal and when I opened the box, I was at first disappointed that the curtains were so much lighter than online. But they weren't! Once I removed them from the clear plastic wrapping, the color was correct - a dark teal. You won't get an accurate color until you remove them from the clear plastic pocket. The texture is silky, but not shiny, and the curtain is well made. Haven't washed them but hung them yesterday - hoping the fold wrinkles will fall out and I won't have to iron them. Be aware that these are black on the window side and will show black from outside your window unless you happen to have an additional roller shade. I had to get curtains up quickly before hosting a house full of family for Spring break. These curtains were reasonably priced, delivered quickly, matched the wall cover perfectly, and blocked the bright Florida sun. Photos show the difference the curtains make.

I used these to close off an unused doorway to cut the chill in winter time. Was on a mission to stop cold air flow. These worked brilliantly. As you enter my home, theres a small foyer, I have steps upstairs and straight ahead is the entrance for the kitchen, to the right is an unnecessary entrance for the living room. I used these to block any doorway air in said unnecessary living room entrance. So they don't function as curtains but as a moveable access point. They are regularly moved to access stuff and my dog moves them to make himself a nice cozy spot. The reason I tell you all this, stranger, is that these curtains have held up. They are nice and strong. They have big time reduced my cold air in winter. And it's about to be summer and there are no plans to take them down. They add nice color to an otherwise empty space in our home. Great great great quality. Also, they are beautifully long. I just love these. I use long curtains as backdrops behind bedframes, I have not used these for that purpose but I bet they would be stellar for that too! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It makes my room dark which is I'm satisfied for after 12 hour shift I can finally get some rest in my cozy dark bedroom. But the bottom doesn't seem even. I like the colors and quality!

(PROOF: My photo shows the black blackout curtains -in between longer curtains - with the blinds of my window *wide open* during the daytime. I added fabric to block the large grommet holes. Later, I will move the rod higher up so that the light spilling up the top will not be an issue.) Thank goodness these actually work. I'm not exaggerating when I say that as soon as I put the panel up, my bedroom cooled down from being hot & sticky to being very comfortable. I didn't measure the temp because all I have is a phone app but could tell a big difference in temp between the bedroom (with the panel) and the living room (without). I have a TINY apartment (under 700sf) and because of the floorplan, the AC in the living room does nothing for the bedroom as the air doesn't circulate well. It's already getting hot and humid where I live. What I notice is that the curtains cool by not just blocking the sunlight. My old "blackout" (yeah right) curtains did okay blocking out light but they didn't help at all with cooling down the room. The one thing I wish is that I had gotten the longer panel as I did with my old curtains (which block some light but do NOT work for cooling). Until I get another set of these, I had to get creative and make the old ones work along with this single panel for now. One thing I noticed is that these do block light well except for those large grommet holes. They let in more light unless I move the rod higher up the wall (I think that would work). I just used some extra sheers I had to make a workaround for now. At least I do have something to block the light (and heat) this summer. My "office" is in the bedroom so that is where I spend most of the time but I do need to cut my AC usage. I have ordered longer ones for my living room. The wrinkles are only in spots from folding/packaging but I'm going to need to use some wrinkle release because they are not "falling out" fast enough. ... show more
