  • Works for soft stems
Model: S-18PCS
These work great for soft stems but not as well on dense stems for me. I do have arthritis in my hands though so someone else might be able to use them on thicker denser stems than I can. They also are large on my fingers but I have small fingers (size 4 ring finger).

  • These have no purpose
Model: L-12PCS
Never in a million years would these ever be handy or have a true purpose. By the time you put any effort into finding the right one to fit your fingers and get them on, you could have just had scissors and cut the stems that way. Dont waste your money on this garbage.

  • Too big for skinny fingers
Model: S-12PCS
I’ve been eyeing these finger knives for awhile. When I’m rummaging through my garden and admiring my plants, I tend to snip dead buds using my fingernails since my snippers are usually lost somewhere. Some plants just require a quick pinch so I thought the thumb knives would be great just to keep on my fingers while I stroll and I could prevent damaging my nails. Well, they do work and the blades are sharp. The size small is still a little big for my fingers so they’re a little awkward to use. They’re made of silicone so your fingers will sweat from the heat. Extra care and attention must be given when wearing these. I tend to flip and brush my hair from my face often so if I’m not careful, I could easily forget about the shape blades and end up cutting or scratching myself. Or worse, I pet or touch one of my dogs and end up harming them. I wanted to love these. I even ordered the 12pc set because I thought I would heavily use them. Unfortunately, the fit isn’t for my fingers. Someone like me, who can be absentminded at times, should not keep cutting blades on their thumbs. ... show more

  • Should do in a “pinch” ;)
Model: L-12PCS
I’ve been gardening for decades. I grow and preserve all of our produce. Last year I planted 36 tomato plants so I’m no stranger to pruning. I love the concept of this product but I’m not sold yet. Perhaps because I’ve been doing it for nearly 3 decades without. I grow herbs and lettuce indoors all winter so even though we still have 6 feet of snow I was able to give these a trial. First impressions, ok. I find them a little bit awkward but they did cut my marjoram and lettuce easily. They did not cut through the woody stalks on my rosemary. Not surprised because every my kitchen shears complain about trimming rosemary. The blades are sharp. They fit well but I have petite hands, so be aware if you have big hands they may not fit as well. There are 4 sets total so I think they are a very good value for the cost. I will be honest and say that I don’t see them becoming a major player in my toolkit. I like a good old set of garden nippers personally but if you are just dead heading flowers or pinching of a few suckers I can see the benefits. I will give them an honest shot this summer but the verdict is out. I’m not saying they are not a good product! They are. But I don’t know if they fit my gardening style. And if you have big hands you might not be able to get them on. ... show more

  • A bit awkward to use
Model: S-12PCS
I have a vegetable garden and often use my finger nail or thumb nail to pluck off a dead leaf or harvest something. Sometimes I try to use my nail to harvest and realize I should have grabbed my pruners. I thought using this would be kind of like using my nails, but it isn't quite the same. First off, I have small hands (I wear size small gloves at work). The size small on these was still loose. The thumb and pointer finger covers fell off at least once each as I was doing some minor pruning for my seedlings. The set has two "straight" thumb blades (90 degree angle) and two "angled" thumb blades. The angled thumbs provide an experience closer to that of using a finger nail. The blades are sharp and cut through the lower stems of my tomato leaves with minimal effort. I didn't like the straight 90 degree thumbs. The other 8 pieces provided are finger covers. The spiral wire on these does seem to block the blades from cutting into the finger. The case on these is small and requires the fingers to be nested inside one another. This isn't ideal because the silicone seems to attract soil by static, so both thumb and finger were covered in dirt that didn't blow or shake off. ... show more

  • Fun little elegant gadgets!
Model: S-18PCS
I was intrigued by these as I've had a couple of clients (all avid gardeners) who swear by them. I like that they include one bladed one that fits on the thumb and another that fits on the index finger along with plenty of protectors for your other fingers if you're using them for cutting back flowers and such. I've been using them to open packages and they are very effective at that as well as getting those annoying little stickers off of things. Considering how grateful I am and appreciative of multi-purpose tools, I think it's safe to say that I'm impressed by these. Since it came in a three-pack, I've been able to share the love and that's always a bonus! ... show more

  • Be careful not to slice yourself
Model: S-18PCS
I've seen these before in social media. I thought they were half gimmick and half practical. Overall, they do have their own practical use, which doesn't do more than scissors but still is decently useful. It basically uses a thumb cot with a hard plastic tip embedded with a blade. There are protective cots for 1 or 2 other fingers, with wire wrapped around it to give a hard surface to push the objects into the blade and to protect your finger from being cut. It is a bit awkward to use at first as the blade is located more towards the fingertip so it's tough to exert force into the blade. This is especially hard for the diagonally angled blade. The right angle blade works much better at cutting into things as you push downwards with your thumb pad. It is fairly sharp and can easily cut through soft greens, but not so great for tough fibrous materials like grape vines or tree branches. It makes it a cinch to pick salad greens and ilk by pinching off the outer leaves. A note of caution is to be careful not to touch your other fingers with your thumb as you can easily do so subconsciously and cut yourself. ... show more
