  • Easy, fun game for everyone
This has easily become the favorite gift this Christmas! We got it for our 5 year old but we’ve all enjoyed the game. It’s simple to play and the attitude of the Grouch Couch is engaging and silly. The way the coins shoot out give that nostalgic feeling of 90s games like Perfection and keeps you on your toes. Great game and we bet the kids will play it for quite a while! ... show more

  • Kids 4 and up love this game.
My 4 yr old grandson asked me to buy this game. We got it home and played for an hour then again 2 more times the same day. It plays quickly and was easy to learn so he did not lose interest.

  • Fun early turn taking game
Bought this as a game to use in school counseling sessions and the kids love it. The couch can be a little finicky and get stuck sometimes but overall great game for the money. It’s easy to play and just silly enough to keep a range of ages engaged.

  • Fun game, even for adults
I got this for a 6 year old and it's an extremely cute and fun game. There's no reading involved so younger kids can play it but they do need to be supervised because the pieces are pretty small. The couch makes all sorts of grumbly grouchy noises and spits out coins, beware the coins come out pretty quickly and can fly pretty far! The Queens have fun items that you might find in a couch on them like quarters or underwear or melted popsicles etc. It takes three double a batteries and you want to be sure just flip the power switch off before you put it back in the box when not in use or it will randomly start talking. The only other thing to be aware of is that when it comes in the box there's packaging but there's also a clear plastic rubber band type thing that goes around the entire back of the couch that's really hard to notice but the toy won't work until it's removed. We gifted this to a kindergarten classmate for his birthday and he loved it as well. As an adult I don't mind playing two rounds of this game back to back because it's quick and easy. ... show more

  • The game is ok, but had some areas for improvement
The media could not be loaded. My 4-year-old son saw a commercial for this game and has been asking for it ever since. He ended up using some birthday money to buy it and he has played with it a ton - he really likes it. In my parenting/adult opinion, the game is just ok. The concept of the game is very easy - roll the dice, place some snacks on the couch, press the arm rests and the couch may or may not release some tokens as he munches and gobbles up the snacks. The winner is the person with the most tokens at the end of the game. My ‘suggestions for improvement’ would be that the middle couch cushion that holds the tokens is very difficult to open. I feel like I might break it every time I open it. I also wish the game had a little strategy, as it really just lacks opportunity for learning, strategizing, and creating opportunities for teaching. I suppose you could talk about colors and basic turn taking, but overall, it’s a simple game and winning is solely by chance. I also wish the couch was a little more consistent with pushing out tokens. I’ve played a few times with my kids and one person always seems to get only one or even no tokens, while another person ends up with 10+. Yes, this is just a part of chance of playing games, but it just isn’t consistent and honestly, someone seems to always end up disappointed (which is the opposite feeling I’m hoping for when playing a game with a child). Overall, it’s fine, it’s ok. I’m including a few photos and a video just to provide a closer look at what to expect - hope that helps! ... show more
