This is my first time using theses bricks and I am so impressed with them. They are great for amending hard clay soil. I put one brick in a 5 gallon pail and start adding water until the brick is totally broken down. The pail will be more than half full of a nice moist planting mix.. I add it to potting soil or ground soil. Love this stuff!

These are definitely as described as far as adding water and expanding. Since I've just used them this year and planted, I can't say as to how much they help with the plant's roots, but it makes sense and I'm hopeful. I think they are definitely worth a try and that they are a reasonable price. I'll try and update this review later into the season.

States that its washed 3 times but I usually prerinse it before I buffer my coco. This product had so much tanning that the water was so dark it took awhile before the water is a bit cleaner. Will that much tanning houseplants and other vegetable plants' leaves can turn yellow or have orange green leaves.

This coco is different from other, cheaper types. With the lesser quality brands, you have to wash and buffer the coco before using it. With Coco Med, it's ready to go. Just reconstitute it with water. I did pH-correct the tap water that I let sit for 24 hours to off-gas the chlorine. So there's that. The first time I used Coco Med, I washed and buffered it like others I had beed using. However, when I did that, it washed all the good stuff that was in there. DO NOT WASH AND BUFFER THIS COCO. Once my seeds popped and used up their natural nutrients, they wilted and died because I had washed out everything that makes Coco Med great. Just add good water and you're all set. The plants I have growing in Coco Med now are doing fantastic.
