  • A compete text full of great material.
Format: Paperback
An excellent resource. It is written with some text concerning the history of this craft and then gives lists of information needed for people to understand as they practice. There are spells that the author has cast and found useful. This is not necessarily for a beginner, but is a good reference. In accordance with this tradition, and all, one must become initiated. That can be through their own practice or, better, through a mentorship. As an individual who doesn't practice this craft, I find this book facinating in its seeming simplicity; however, the more you read and think about the material, the more you realize that there is a complexity to this practice. I'm reading this to understand beliefs and faiths that respect nature and the planet. Regardless of your beliefs, this is a very positive book and this aspect of the craft I imagine, attracts people. There is no real malevolence here and the author stresses the idea of balance. Overall, a great book. ... show more

  • Excellent resource for the Apprentice & the Learned
Format: Paperback
I absolutely adore this Grimoire/Book of Shadows. First off, this is NOT a "How~to" book. This book educates & also inspires. This is the authors OWN Book of Shadows. Traditions passed down for generations. It is meant to be used as a guide, and also be used as your own. For those new & investigating the "Green" Craft, this is a very insightful and enlightening read and quite useful. For those who have been practicing for some time, this is a valuable addition to your resources. It can be quite difficult to create your own Grimoire/Book of Shadows from scratch. (Trust me, I have tried). This book takes care of that, giving you something to start with. A wealth of information, with plenty of room for additions of your own. It covers pretty much every aspect that one needs to practice the "Green" ways. And, as I said prior, much room to add your own traditions & thoughts. Being a "Green Witch", this is the book I have wanted to write myself, for years. The traditions that were passed down to me were by "word of mouth", from my elders. This book has allowed me to write in the traditions that were passed down to me, while they are still crisp in my head, also to be passed down to my son when the time comes. The author is most kind to share these pages with us, and I give her much thanks for this. Blessing to you dear author ... show more

  • The Best Grimoire I've ever seen
Format: Paperback
This is not only a visually beautiful book, but it's an incredibly dense book, chock full of correspondences, spells, rituals, and information. I'm not usually that enthusiastic about grimoire's written by others since many of them seem to be just a way to get their ego stroked. Some are so poorly written, you wonder why a publisher accepted them. One I've read had such poor spelling and grammar that I don't think it was even edited--a big mistake. While I understand that literacy amongst witches has only been common in this century, it still has a strong effect on how I perceive the author when there are such egregious errors. I've been a solitary practitioner for years, but Ann Moura's book really increased my knowledge. It is probably a bit much for a beginner since it is not a basic book by any means. I've been told that some of her other books are basic witchcraft lessons. This book just impressed me by the total amount of information gathered in one place. Not to mention that the rituals, spells, etc. are eminently usable and very well written. It was an interesting read just because things like the ... show more

  • Love This Book
Format: Paperback
Out of all the books on magick, Wicca, and the occult in general this book is by far my favorite. The tradition I created (The Northern Woods) is one that is a Celtic and Eclectic mix. As such this book offers many great things that I can easily adapt to fit inside my tradition. For example the celebrations for the Sabbats and Esbats I can easily do with my coven. The poems, charges, and songs are beautiful. The spells are good though there is only a small collection of spells to do. Overall I love this book and the author. I'm certainly going to be investing into more of this author's works. The only issues I had with the book were that when it comes to things like planetary sigils, planetary squares, and how to use them the book doesn't really go in depth. It doesn't teach you what these mean, how to find them, how to use them. It just presents them to you and you have to do more research from there. Outside of that issue and the lack of spell's the book is amazing. Definitely well worth the money and I highly recommend this book to any one looking for a good book on the Craft. ... show more

  • Easy and interesting to read
Format: Paperback
This is the second time I've bought this book. I had it years ago and loved everything about it. It's an easy and interesting read. So many things about it felt familiar and comforting. I'll never not have this book in my possession. Love it.

  • finding your earth
Format: Paperback
very well written compendium. easy to understand and put in to practice, with clearly laid out guidelines and suggestions for practice or ritual. i have come to know much more information than i knew prior to reading this book; about the names of deities, the cycles of the moon and houses, the songs and rituals practiced. i would suggest the Grimoire for the Green Witch to anyone that seeks a better understanding of reconnecting with ancient beliefs and wisdom, on practical magic, and how to live compassionately. i think that some might read this book and think 'cult', or 'satanism' because of the terminology used. if you think this going in to the works then that is all that you will take away. there are symbols used and rituals practiced that may seem anathema to all that i said previously. green magick, at least to me, is more aligned to buddhist ideology. the practices are different but the underlying principles are the same. read this collection with an open mind and you might be surprised at how much you end up taking away with you. ... show more
