I bought 3 of these to make my sons baby food in and they have been perfect. It’s easy to get the cubes out after running the tray under warm water for 30 seconds or so. After that I just bend the tray in the middle and the cubes pop right out. If I have any trouble at all it’s usually with the first cube (and then the remainder follow easily) and even then it just takes a little extra patience. The trays themselves are sturdy enough that I’m not worried about spilling on the way to the freezer and I have stacked all 3 up without issue. As others mention, the lids don’t form a super tight seal, so these wouldn’t be appropriate for long term storage. However, as long as you don’t overfill you can get the lids on easily and they will form a bit of a seal around the edge. I haven’t had any issues with freezer burn and have left the trays in the freezer for up to 72 hours. ... show more

I have been looking for a silicone tray to freeze my homemade baby food and was happy to find this one with the lid for the price. But after using it a few times, I have found that removing the frozen food is a bit of a hassle. Almost easier to freeze in a standard ice tray for removal purposes. The portion size seems to be good, but too big for my baby who started solids about a month ago so i find a lot goes to waste or i have to cut it after removing from the tray. This product is actually pretty great. I store my breastmilk in this tray. The lid is soft like the tray and sort of creates this perfect seal for freezing. I don't have to worry about freezer burn with this tray. Now popping them out requires a bit of work, not too much. I typically run the tray, with lid still on, under hot water to make it unstiffen, and when I can bend it, means I can start getting them out. I work from the bottom, pushing the cubes out one or two at a time. It's not like your standard Ice tray where it all breaks apart. Really, when you figure out how to do this it's a breeze each time. I actually bought some other brand trays for freezing baby food and now regret it (I did that because of cost and how many ounces provided for doing batch freezing). This tray is something I would suggest, maybe even buy for new moms. :) ... show more

Love the portion sizing. Reviews says that cubes are hard to pop out but I havent felt so. Once you give them a push they pop up and if you want only one then you can gently pull that one using tongs or very clean hands. Portion sizes are smallish but perfect for first feedings as well as adding to recipes. Popping them out isnt the easiest right out of the freezer but if you leave it out on the counter for a minute they slide right out.

Its flimsy silicone, so when you're filling or moving it to the freezer you have to be very careful not to collapse the tray or you're gonna have a bad day.. The size and number of cubes on this product turns it into a solid brick once you do freeze it requiring force and warm water to be applied in order to remove the cubes. Lid does not seal well as, it too, is the same flimsy silicone and comes undone very easily. ... show more

I purchased 2 of these trays for homemade baby food. They work great. I love that the cubes are small, so it's the perfect portion size of each item. I simply put the puréed food in the tray by using a spoon or pouring it right from the blender. I stack them one on top of the other in the freezer. To get the cubes out, I run the tray under hot water from the faucet for a few seconds and then push the cubes out from the bottom of the tray and store them in labeled bags in the freezer.
